xjjeep90
Young quarterback, an inexpirenced defense, and a average offensive line. Just limit the turnovers as much as you can and we can at least have a shot at winning some games this year.Dave Lapham said in an interview with Hobson that a lot of the games will come down to one or two plays that will decide the outcome, as well as the season. I just hope that it is not a turnover.

Probowl right tackle, future probowl left tackle and guard, a tough as nails center, and a right guard that can run block into next week....Damn if that's average I'd love to see what's above average. As for turnovers....yeah, it's pretty obvious to every team in the NFL that turnovers are the key, I don't care if a young QB is starting or a 10 year vet starts. KYBENGALFAN
TURNOVERS? Make mine Apple, please.. lol... I'm still wondering why Coach Lewis didn't challenge the Rudi Johnson fumble after catch in the first quarter.. Do replay officials get the preseason off or is that not considered good sportsmanship -- questioning the officials even before the regular season kicks off? what about it? I was wondering the same exact thing KY.Yeah, as far as the turnover differential, look at the preseason games with the Bengals and that tells the whole story (almost). In the four games they played, the had a negative TO differential, the only reason they won the Colts game was because Coach Dungy didn't want to go into OT (understandably). We have definitely got to cut down on TO's. And IF we do give up the ball, we have to get the ball back ourselves to negate it. It's all about damage control.
wookie
You all know that Lewis is going to be down the Bengals' throats all week about turnovers. I think they'll be ok once the startes have been set and they play a full 4 quarters.Rudi wasn't saying anything about the fumble except that the defender hit the ball as he was jumping and popped it out. I didn't see the play but it doesn't sound like he was questioning the call.O-line played well last night, Sulfsted should stick around for depth...he allowed a QB pressure in a goal-line situation, but for the most part played well. Rudi had 51 yds on just 5 carries and perry had a nice night so the O-line was playing very well.I'm more worried about our secondary than T.O.s right now, with a game against a very good QB in Pennington coming up its tough to see the D struggling to defend the pass. Just limit the turnovers as much as you can and we can at least have a shot at winning some games this year. I agree with Kev, our line is pretty good and Rudi ran everywhere in the first half and Carson had enough time to get the pass off. I think Bobbie Williams and Willie Anderson will be the best Tackle Guard combo in the league. We'll get tons of yards running off to the right side. But you are absolutely right about turnovers. I'm still wondering why Coach Lewis didn't challenge the Rudi Johnson fumble after catch in the first quarter..I actually thought it was a turnover after watching the replay. I looked like the ball was out of his arms before he crossed.I'm more worried about our secondary than T.O.s right now, with a game against a very good QB in Pennington coming up its tough to see the D struggling to defend the pass.I think our secondary is in big trouble. TO's is lack of focus and just bad luck.. the secondary was absolutely awful and in the first Quarter, the QB's in against the Bengals had their way. It seems as if pass defense has been our biggest problem all through the preseason. O'Neal needs to get back, and needs to play well, or it could be a long season for the pass defense... Raiders fans were warning me about him when we got him. Said, I hope you still think he's a good FA pick up when he's getting burned all the time. I didn't believe them cause of how he did last year, but if he doesn't get back to form.....
xjjeep90
My reasoning saying that we had an average offensive line was refering to the penetration that the other teams were getting during the first few pre-season games that I did see. It looked like Palmer was running around a lot trying to avoid tackles. While he is a great mobile QB, this is more than likely going to be the other teams' game plan. Get Palmer running and force him into mistakes.
