Barbarian
It will be a long season....Baxie, you and the Barb should hang out together...misery loves company. IT WAS ONE PRESEASON GAME!!! It was against a team with an excellent defense and 1st teamers were pretty much even. Half a dozen or so Bengals, most starters sat out with nagging injuries, and the backups gave up some late scores.Focus on the positive, wait to see how much they improve, and let them get to November bfore you stand on your soapbox with "The End is Coming" signs. Chewie,Since I was mentioned in your post, I should probably chime in here.1. Have I even posted ANYTHING in this thread yet??? I didn't call any DOOMSDAY things from just one Pre-Season Game!!! That would be wayyyy too ludicrous!!!2. However, I DID call one prediction ALMOST RIGHT!!! That was:Palmer--3 for 9, 55 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT.Real numbers:3 for 8, 74 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT.You guys may refer to me as Nostradamus Barb, Predictor Barbarella, or Stat Barbie. 3. Wookie, are you another bitter pissed-off homer of a fan???4. If you're going to call someone out, do it in the Smack Forum, Rookie. p.s.Love the avatar.... Barbarian
Ok, this is what I noticed from the game stats that should be alarming to some of you:Chris Simms--12 for 15, 110 yards!!!!!!!! Chris Simms???Brian Grieseball--7 for 11, 96 yards!!!!!!! Brian "The Drunkass" Grieseball?????Brad Johnson--3 for 3(!!!!), 49 yards!!!!!!!QBs for Tampa:22 for 29, 255 yardsChrist!!!! That's PS2-like, isn't it??? Were the Tampa QBs going against San Diego's Scrub Defense on Easy Level on Madden or something???Here's another thing that should be alarming:Jamel White (????)--5 carries for 27 yards (a 5.4 average)!!!! I'm hoping this didn't happen against the 1st team defense. This is called getting driven off the ball. It's called another thing too--GETTING OWNED!!!!Rudi Johnson's numbers are very average too.It looks like the Bungles better get back to the drawing board. Yes our defense is still making sh**y players look like Hall of Famers. Still, it was the first preseason game, so hopefully we will look better on Saturday. :player:

WHO DEY AGAIN?
It's the pre-season you guys need to get a clue. I've never saw so many people jumping off the bandwagon after a pre-season game. When they start taking starters out the "game" doesn't matter. In fact in doesn't matter anyway it's PRE-SEASON!!!!!! Keep posting anyway,It's good for a laugh

Bobcat Bengal
Well, that's one way to start a career I guess.... Palmer started his by throwing 2 INT's last year....give him a break (perry)
Bobcat Bengal
my opinions.... Chad you messed up but who cares, you don't because its preseason and It means nothingThe fumble by perry oh well it was closeIve hated TJ for years so after tonite he's gone...Bastard made it look like Palmer had an int....Palmers only mistake was the throw the ball to avoid the sack play...K WASH looked good....real good....I noticed that I didnt see some people playing like Kiewan, Pat Johnson, Maurice Mann, Askew too much...I loved the fact tha Levi was on Simeon Rice....He needed to go against him all night...I love to see him get the needed experience against guys like him...I noticed Stacey Andrews... Once he learns the ins and outs WHEW... WILLY BETTER MENTOR THIS KIDJermi Johnson didnt play so get used to Lynch....this depresses me a bit but i think it was there for a reasonCaleb looked pumped and thats good...If only Mr. LG steinbach was healthy I think Chad was a TAD nervous.....T.O. drops passes all the timePerry, welcome to the NFLIf only everyone was as high on TJ as he is on himself, you'd think he was a Pro-Bowler or something....but I think he will redeem himself....for some reason I think he and Palmer have a chemistry (see Detroit pre season game last year)Yeah, that was some retarded s**t Palmer, don't do that.....Kitna and Frerotte already tried it, IT DON'T WOIRK! Yeah, Squirrely Boy is gonna be dancing all over the field come game timeWell, at least you saw the game Levi's a tough one, looks like all the critics ate some crow on that pickI wanted to see Andrews, but again, I didn't catch the gameJeremi needs to lose weight and get in better football conditioning, he tore a muscle in his groin, which is why he's not playing....Steiner will be good to go come the start of the seasonFINAL THOUGHT: This is one pre season game, its NOT an indicator of the season ahead, alright? The sky isn't falling, these guys haven't hit anyone all hit, or been hit for that matter, so let's just take it one game at a time.....we'll be fine...Who Dey :player:

bengalsfan33
I am a bit upset with how they played but it's only preseason and the still have room for improvement. I say they need to cut Housmandez or how ever you spell it because he missed like 2 wide open passes that should have been caught.

If I wanted to call you out I would've done more than mention your name in a post. You have to admit that your history merits a mention in a post for someone who is speaking negatively of the team. Constantly referring to them as the Bungles and critisizing every front office move sounds more pissed off and homeristic than not. That post was directed at Bax for calling it a season after 1 preseason game. I agree with you, that is ludicrous.I will admit that I was amazed that I hadn't seen you on yet bashing a dismal performance and saying "here we go again, same old Bungles", and I am truly impressed.BTW, I passed Rookie level a while ago...and glad you too appreciate the true beauty of Paris. jditty47
simms shoulda had 2 int's but we dropped them...1 was right at caleb miller and he just dropped it. Andrews had a false start penalty and the radio guys said he looked nervous and he wasnt bulling ppl over like they hoped he would. Hes a project. Even if J. Johnson doesnt get back in shape i think that FB we got now is damn good, at least for blocking.
Bucfan219
simms shoulda had 2 int's but we dropped them...1 was right at caleb miller and he just dropped it. Are you certain you mean Simms?Simms only had three incompletions, iirc, and one of them was thrown deliberately out-of-bounds.I remember Griese throwing at least once into the hands of a defender."Simms made an impressive escape from a near sack, his end zone pass to WR Edell Shepherd was broken up at the last second""A play-action pass to WR Mark Jones was broken up by CB Alvin Porter, who had drawn the pass-interference flag two plays before.""With QB Brian Griese at the helm, the Bucs nearly turned the ball over when it went through Jones' hands but was dropped by S Marquand Manuel.""Griese's first down pass was intended for TE Will Heller down the left seam but it was stopped and nearly intercepted by LB Caleb Miller."http://www.buccaneers.com/news/newsdetail.aspx?newsid=3976Sims stats were listed as 12 completions on 15 attempts.http://www.buccaneers.com/team/gamestats.a...edate=8/16/2004It looks like you meant Griese.Anyway, I'm a Buc fan as you may be able to discern from my username.I'm happy for you Bengal fans that Marvin Lewis is turning things around up there. Your ownership situation and the team's (recent) history of futility reminds me of the tough years of Buccaneer creamsickle ineptitude.Your defense is pretty solid. We'll just have to see how Palmer pans out. Good luck, except when you play the Bucs. The Bengals are my favorite AFC team (at least until they're perennial favorites instead of underdogs--but that'll take a few winning seasons).Cheers. schweinhart
I have a hardon for this season. Watching palmer throw that fireball to CJ across the middle was a thing of beauty. He has an awesome arm. I cant wait to see him play for a full 4 quarters. Dead on Ditty. There's gonna be a MoFo bunch of pts. on the board this year Palmer is a gun w/ full grasp of his options and quick to read. 3 of his inc. were drops and 2 were wise throwaways.I appreciate what Kitna did last year but there's no freakin' comparison between him and Palmer. Palmer is the real damn deal. The OL pass protection was solid except for a missed safety blitz and Simeon Rice. Chad (except for 1 drop) and Washington looked great. The running game is prime time and Perry was very impressive despite the fumble.Housh gotta go and Brat needs to get off the fake WR resvers/inside hand-off to the RB. They did it twice with no success including the Perry fumble. The third time they ran the reverse to Washington and he showed why his running skills demand he should get the ball in his hands at least six or seven times a game.Bengals O will kick ass this year
