The Brew Man
-- Deion Eyeing Another Comeback --Mon Aug 16, 2004 --from FFMastermind.comThe Baltimore Sun reports a league source yesterday told The Sun that CB Deion Sanders is contemplating whether to make a comeback as the Ravens' nickel back (fifth defensive back). Sanders, one of the most charismatic athletes in sports and one of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history, would address the biggest need on a vaunted Ravens defense. A decision by Sanders is not imminent, the source added. Sanders, who turned 37 earlier this month, has been out of football for three seasons. "To my knowledge, Deion Sanders is retired," Ravens HC Brian Billick said. "That kind of takes him off our radar. If he decides to unretire, like any number of other teams, we would be interested." Sanders could not be reached for comment.?
skyline
I hope not. I've never been much of a fan...even when he played for the Reds.
shworge
Supposedly Deion wants to go play nickel corner for the Ravens. HAHA, what a joke. I wouldn't be that worried about it, if it was two years ago I would be scared, but not after he's been sitting in a booth for a year. They think he can still run somewhere in the 4.4 range and as a nickle back he would be dangerous. Especially added to the D they already have in Baltimore you'd have to be crazy not to worry about it as a division rival. ESPN made it sound like he is thisclose to coming out of retirement and Ray Lewis and company are trying their best to talk him into it. wookie
They have enough tacklers on that team, want they want is a ball hawk, someone who can give Palmer, Maddox, and Garcia a hard time all year long. They had another old DB signed, but he can't play due to a blood clot on his lung...Deion would be just as good. Sign him now, give him a month and he'll do well in nickle duty.
