kevnz
Seems that Chad Johnsons jersey is a top seller at the nfl's web store. He's # 3 behind TO and Vick, not bad at all. Seems that the team knew what they were doing when they decided to make him the face of the Bengals this year. and get ready to see more Bengals jerseys out and about. Hopefully we can have 2 in the top five by the end of the season with Palmer or Rudi.Sportsline.com story

Yeah, but TO was always like that. Chad seems to be so focused on his playing and an honest desire to be the best WR in the game I don't see how...Maybe if he does get his 1800 yards, a super bowl ring, and maybe a league MVP he might, but it just seems that he wants to be the greatest WR possible, ever, plus he seems to understand the weight on his shoulders as the face of the Bengals. But like you Josh maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Yep--all that celebrating, to me, screams "me first". I can see CJ turning into Terrell.I could see CJ doing something stupid like celebrating on Dallas' Star in Arlington. I just wonder if George Teague would be there to kick his ass during the celebration???I don't think that CJ is beyond the Joe Horn cellphone incident either. Me too, especially since I'm one of those people with a chad jersey. I wanted someone more low-key, but I went with him hoping that he was a sure thing to stay with the Bengals for a few years at least. The Brew Man
To me, the difference is you dont see Chad hollering at his coaches, hes seems to have a ton of respect for Marvin. Hes bought into the system. TO always seemed to be on a different wavelength than his coaching staffs.......
Black'n'Orange
Guess I'm in the minority here. But, I like the celebrations. The game belongs to the players, let them have some fun. More and more big business is slipping into the game.Plus, like LK just mentioned, I think CJ has to much respect for his coach and team mates to cause them too much trouble. On the other hand, I kinda like that CJ's celebrations were intended to rally fans to a long overdue celebration for a team and fans that hasnt had anything to celebrate in a long long time. WHO DEY AGAIN?
You hit the nail on the head there B&O! I'm with you. It's been a long time coming with the TD celebrations. Do you think his jersey ,or any other Bengals jersey, would be selling #3 if it wasn't for his celebrations? :player:
The_Next_Big_Thing
The biggest difference between Chad Johnson and TO is that Chad Johnson puts the time and effort in to be the best. Yes, he comes off cocky, but he's having fun. He shows up for team meetings, and even when he didn't have Marvin, he listened to his coaches because he wants them to make him the next Jerry Rice. Not the next TO, the next Rice. Rice is the best receiver EVER to play the game. TO is a flash in the pan.
wookie
I just hope to see more Bengals Jerseys in the area I live in. Its great to be able to order online, but when you live out of market, and in an area that most people are Bills, Jets, and Giants fans you don't get a lot of the Orange and Black. I have seen Palmer Jerseys out, but not any of the Johnsons' Jerseys. It also says something for your team when the Jerseys start showing up...means that they're winning and their popularity is on the rise. So, hope to see all those Jerseys real soon. :player:
BengalByTheBay
I think that's the point of the thread. Stores stock whatever sells and makes the store $$. If CJ's jersey is selling that well -- you will most certainly see them this year at your local store. As for CJ being TO, I don't see him as anything but a fun loving kid whose biggest kick of the week is on Sunday. That's ok by me. Keep it up CJ! I went this summer, however, and they had 3 to choose from. I was elated
