kingwilly
Perhaps his coverage skills are somewhere between Rogers Beckett and Ifeyani Ohalete....

Spor_tees
If all they were going to do was use him for special teams, they could have saved themselves some money and just kept David Jones for that. ...Of coarse Tom Nelson is on IR so maybe they just recycled HIS jerseys for Reggie Nelson to wear. I am guessing they are still just not comfortable with his grasp of the defense yet to put him out on the field. The Bengals safeties have enough problems in pass coverage to put a guy out there that has to think before he reacts.
HairOnFire
If all they were going to do was use him for special teams, they could have saved themselves some money and just kept David Jones for that. I visited a Jaguar messageboard a week or so ago to see what they were saying about Jones and Nelson. The consensus opinion seemed to be that Jones had been a consistent burn victim, but still better than any of the CB's on the roster. Not joking. As for Nelson, all agreed the Jags pass defense was no better without him and several mentioned how it had actually gotten worse. And all were crossing their fingers that a waiver wire pickup just signed might fill the hole vacated by the Nelson trade. I am guessing they are still just not comfortable with his grasp of the defense yet to put him out on the field. The Bengals safeties have enough problems in pass coverage to put a guy out there that has to think before he reacts. Absolutely. The real question now is if he sees any playing time now that Roy Williams is dinged.**During the offseason I put the over/under on when Williams would be injured at 6 games.
