Dick LeBeau

Tomorrow evening Dick LeBeau will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player. He will be the 5th player with ties to the Bengals franchise to make the Hall of Fame. Many of us remember him for the disastrous 2002 season as Bengals head coach but in his day he was one of the premier DBs in the league. While with the Bengals in the 1980's he developed the foundation of what became the Zone Blitz defensive scheme. Players like David Fulcher were the prototype for guys like Troy Polamalu in Pittsburgh.

Way to Go......Dick!

....but seriously, I don't think he'll get much recognition for his time in Cincy. If he is going in as a player it will be for playing with the Lions. He certainly will talk about the Steelers too, as thats where he won 2 rings as D-Coordinator. So look for no more than 10 seconds of Cincy in his speech (if that).

Again, good job.......Dick!

Brief mentions of Tim Krumrie and the Brown family in his speech. A little too much Steeler-love but I guess that's only natural.
