walzav29
I heard the whole back to back winning season thing, but to see that in the Bengals entire history that only 1 time they went to the playoffs in back to back seasons was 81-82 season is crazy. At least I understand the pessimism a little more now, but that is bad. All it takes is 1 year though.

bwillycuse
The past doesn't have anything to do with the future. Every day I am loving this team more and more. All the other teams are having issues with holdouts and suspensions. Not the Bengals.Hasn't everyone signed their tenders? No one is upset about their contract. No one is claiming injuries so they an sit out.Chad is itching to get back on the field and he is the only one I know of that has missed voluntary time.It is just a great feeling to not be dealing with legal problems and contract disputes. Lets get all of these rookies in early and be focused on the prize.Barring injuries I can almost guarantee a playoff birth for this team. Now is anyone going to Vegas soon to place me a bet on that +300 for the Bengals to win the North. BengalPimp
Only 1 time???????? So that means it's happened before????? So why does it seem so shocking that it might happen again?????Ah......The MEDIA.
ArmyBengal
Wasn't the last time (prior to last year) the first time in almost 20 years since the Saints went to the playoffs in back to back years ??Worked out pretty well for them in 2009 and while I'm not calling for a Super Bowl at this point in time, if the Bengals win the AFCN with the schedule they are looking at, isn't that a serious consideration ??They have the chance to prove to everyone this year they are a tough minded, focused team. Go kick some ass !!!
walzav29
I agree that it has nothing to do with this season. (When the Bengals compete for the Superbowl). It is weird though.
bwillycuse
First 2 games of the season will be very tough and very telling. At NE and hosting Baltimore.2-0? Deep playoff run - 12-4, 13-3 record1-1? Playoffs - 10-6, 11-5 record0-2? Gets a lot tougher. Depends on the mindset coming out of the games and if they were close. I say 9-7 and maybe get in.Id love to see a second half of the season where we get better and are running into the playoffs instead of trying to recapture the success of an early season streak. It is definitely a tough schedule though.Have to beat the cupcakes.
