If I remember correctly, one of the main reasons Chow left was because Pete wasn't giving him any credit for USC's turnaround. Quote

The Bears have also reached out to Mike Martz.And yes, we're aware of the Associated Press report that says the Carroll deal to Seattle isn't done just yet. Perhaps not. Lane Kiffin is said to come closest to Carroll in regards to personality, and won't change any of the things Carroll had put in place. More importantly though, his father Monte is returning with him to coordinate the defense, Ed Ogeron(sp?) is returning to run the defensive line and oversee recruiting, and last I heard they're making a serious run at Norm Chow to run the offense. In other words, they're trying to get the old band back together.....minus the lead singer, of course. Quote
