Well, we’re at that time of year again….BZ Fantasy Football Super Bowl. The final two teams standing are Jimmy’s FELINE FELONS and Scotty’s SPORRANS FROM HELL

A little background information: We attempted to increase competition by breaking up the 12 team leagues into 4 three team divisions, to encourage more competition and smack talk. It didn’t work out that well. First, we still had uneven scheduling (although Yahoo said they would fix that.) More importantly, it affected our playoffs. We ended up with 4 teams tied for the 6th and final playoff spot at 6 – 7, including WE SUCK AT LIFE & BILLY’S BOYS (2nd & 3rd in Division IV; JUGGERNAUTS (3rd in the tough Division II) and WRAITHS WINNERS (1st in Division III). Although the JUGGERNAUTS scored the 4th most points in the league, they lost out to the WRAITHS because they were in a tougher division. Needless to say, they ain’t happy.

QUALIFIERS:

1) FELINE FELONS (12-1) blew everyone away, scoring 1599 points and winning Div I. Drafting 2nd, Jimmy grabbed MJD & Reggie Wayne, waiting till the 7th to grab a QB (Big Ben). 1st Round Bye.

2) SPORRANS FROM HELL (8-5) – Our friend from the UK finally makes the playoffs, winning Div II and scoring the 2nd highest point total. Drafted his QB (A.Rogers) 7th overall, then stockpiled WRs (Colston, B.Marshall, Ward, Crabtree). After dropping the first 3 games, won 8 of last 10 to earn a Bye.

3) SKYLINE CHILIS (7-5-1) – Mr Smoke ‘n’ Mirrors scored the 2nd LEAST points in the league, yet won Division IV behind DeAngelo Williams (4th overall), Megatron, Jennings, and T.Gonzales. Wild Card Match-up with #6.

4) DESPERATE DERELICTS (7-6) – Drafted last, and grabbed FF MVP Chris Johnson and Andre Johnson. Top Wild Card team, 3rd in points, finished 2nd in Division I. Plays #5.

5) DANIMALS ANIMALS (7-6) – Drafted 11th, and finished 2nd in tough Div II by grabbing F.Gore and D.Brees. Goes against Derelicts in 1st round.

6) WRAITHS WINNERS (6-7) – Won weak Div III despite dropping six of last eight. Drafted 3rd, and grabbed Michael Turner and Peyton Manning. Plays Skyline 1st round

1st ROUND

- In the highest scoring game in BZ history, DERELICTS got big games late from Chris Johnson and Brent Celek to beat the ANIMALS 184 – 168.

- WRAITHS WINNERS leave Reggie Bush (25) and J. Knox (17) on the bench, and are trounced by SKYLINE (D.Jackson’s 35 points) 112 – 91

SEMI-FINALS

- FELINES keep rolling 138 – 133 over DERELICTS, largely because DESPERATE stupidly sat A. Bradshaw (25) for K.Moreno (10).

- SPORRANS blast SKYLINE 151 – 103 behind 40 points from A.Rodgers

CHAMPIONSHIP – Top 2 teams face off, with SPORRANS favored over FELINES by 15.
