Is Mathis still nicked up?

Evan Mathis is still listed on the depth chart at first team left guard, but Nate Livings will get the start. Mathis will still see some significant action.

I haven't seen him listed in a Injury report for a few weeks and he's still listed as a starter but they seem to insist on giving living bulk of the snaps...I Hope its because they just want to save him for more important games :|

PS,Just seems like it's hurt the Rushing since he's gone down and I'd say him & Cook have played the best overall on the Oline this year.

For some reason he hasn't been starting, but I have seen him in during the second halves of the last couple games. I once heard that bigger offensive lineman wear down and tire out the opposing defensive front seven faster, so my logic is maybe they go with the bigger guard in Livings and wear down the defensive tackles, and then put the more athletic Mathis in. Who knows?

By the way, Whitworth has been getting some s**t from Bengals fans for some reason, but in my view, he has been the best offensive lineman the Bengals have had this year, and I think he will only grow as he gets more seasons under his belt at left tackle. For that matter, outside of Bobbie, this line is young and mostly inexperienced at the positions they are playing, and I think this line will mature into a beast over the next couple of seasons, as long as we can keep players like Cook signed.

Bobby has been a huge disappointment to me this year. Outside of the RT rotation, he has easily been the worst aspect of this O-Line. He's a little long in the tooth, he gets called for too many penalties, he has allowed as many sacks as Cook, Mathis, and Livings combined, and appears to have lost the ability to run block because the Bengals suck at running up the middle, and usually only run to the right side with their unbalanced line.

Despite the fact that he was the one veteran anchor that we felt comfortable with at the beginning of the season, I think he needs to be replaced this offseason. If I'm not mistaken he's a FA after this season. It might be time to let him walk. I say they should draft a good OG in the 2nd round to play next to Andre, and this line becomes pretty damn good.

Agreed Shanks,Bobbie has been disappointing and my money is on we draft a guard top 3 rounds as his replacement...
