  1. 1. What is your reason for not being able to go to PBS to watch the first place Bengals?

    • I can't afford it, but would like to go
    • I can't afford it and I would rather watch on TV
    • I am living out of Cincinnati
    • I can afford to go but am not buying in quite yet, show me more

I live far enough away that an overnight stay is required, adding at least another $100 to the already expensive tickets. I just cant see spending $300-$400 for 1 afternoon of entertainment. If that was the case, I believe I would be headed to Vegas for some extra-marital fantasy fun, not a football game.

I try to hit a game every few years. I went to see the home opener in 98 and in 2005 I went to see them clinch the division at Detroit(anniversary present from my wife).

The economics of it all are limiting for me, especially now with a wife and 2 kids in tow.

I started watching football when I was 12 years old and have only seen the Bengals pull off one winning season from then till now. In my whole time as a Bengals fan I've seen us play, and lose, one playoff game. I've seen franchises that were created long after our own win Super Bowls while we stunk to high hell. I love football and I love the Bengals but I can't see spending that kind of money on watching my team, my only team, getting creamed in person. A handful of people on these boards kind of ripped me for not wanting to go to the Texans game. I can safely say I'm glad I didn't go. This isn't meant to be a woe is me post. I just can't see how being pissed at my team in person makes me more of a fan than being pissed at my team at home. That said, I'll be a Bengals fan till I die or the team goes away. If we lose big I'll be happy to watch next week, or season, or decade. If we win big I'll be happy to shout my jubilation at the walls, pumping my fist in the air and spilling bier all over the carpet while my fiance rolls her eyes at me. As long as I'm not spending money on the games, I really have nothing to lose.

I live in Florida. I would love to experience the PBS atmosphere someday, but right now I go to games when they're visiting the s**tty teams in Florida. Btw, Bucs fans are a**h***s!

So are UCF, USF and unfortunately the vast mojority of convicts, drug dealers and pimps who attend Canes games for some unknown reason. I'd rather we just got crowds of 10,000 in the student section than some of the pondlife that attach themselves to a uni they've only ever thought about in the context of trying to sell some hippy lettuce to a couple of NJ guido fratboys. Florida fans are douchenozzles too but that's only because of the mullets. ;)

FSU fans are, in my experience, very reasonable and WVU fans, if you'll indulge me in a moment down memory lane, were always fantastic. Loud, travelled in numbers and had a great SOH.

I live in Troy, Ohio. So to go to the game I have to get a DD which requires me to buy them a ticket also because none of my friends are Bengals fans. They are mostly friends from the Air Force which means they are not from Ohio originally and don't root for them. Then after that there's the horrible Cincy traffic, paying out the ass for parking and then finding a bar to go tail gating in. I don't know the area well enough to know the spots and don't know anyone personally that tail gate themselves. The rediculous 7 or 8 dollar beers doesn't help either, LOL. Can I afford it, sure, but I would rather: Sit at my home and watch the game in HD. Surrounding that TV is 6 other TV's all on Direct TV. We have a fantasy league that is in it's 10th season now and everyone comes over to watch. I but the Sunday ticket and they bring the food and beer every week so it all evens out and we have a hell of a fun time. So I'll take that for Sunday enjoyment over traffic, expensive tickets, expensive beer, expensive parking, expensive food and watching the game with only one buddy instead of a house full.

Just my 2 pennies though,
