Kazkal
I'll be disappointed if we don't sell out and I really don't want to see Bengals or Chad help out again...Bengals are 5-2 and getting ready for some important games if fans don't wanna see that then they have a problem. cincyhokie
I don't think that there is fan disinterest as much as there is a combination of factors going into the lack of ticket sales.Economy. Fans know that 2 tickets, parking, and concessions are easily going to run you $200. Somebody made a great point on the radio today saying they could spend $1000 on a flat screen or get 4 tickets for their family and spend almost half that.Technology and convienience. You can't follow your FF teams or watch other games when you are at a game. Also with HD TV watching at home got alot better.Bitterness. Some fans won't buy into this team right away. Litterally. Why give MB money when you can watch at home and still be a fan?5,000 seats isn't alot and I would bet that those factors could account for 5,000 people....and I'm not going to tell someone how to spend their money. All that said, I've got my ticket and will be there next week.

Some fans won't buy into this team right away. Litterally. Why give MB money when you can watch at home and still be a fan?Because it's being more supportive of the players being in the stadium and Mike Brown is still going to get money because of shared revenues anyways

Of course, when you are beating the Steelers year in and year out, whipping up on Jerry and his boys, and making a yearly playoff run...it helps. You're right, going to games is the best. AGrizzlyBaer
It really sounds like the bengals are trying to make a push to have people buy the remaining season ticket packs. Allowing them to have dibs for the seat if the bengals get a home playoff game is a nice touch. Who knows how much that will change it though. Cincinnati. Not exactly the recession-proof capital of the US. I'm not saying these excuses or reasons can't be solved. I'm just saying that it doesn't take a whole lot of reasoning to figure out why 5,000 of the 65,000 seats are getting harder to sell.$100 bucks per person per ticket out of my weekly budget? That's hard for alot of people to do right now. Anyone notice the lines for the Texans free ticket giveaway that the lines started forming at 930pm on Friday with people CAMPING OUT. Those tickets were gone by 230am.
bucksfan2
I really think it is the loss of season ticket holders. I don't know how many gave up their tickets but it went from a sold out season to 5000+ tickets available for every game. Those people who gave up their tickets aren't likely to go to the games. After paying for a seat license and ticket for a number of years they would rather watch the game at home then fork out $75+ for a game. I have season tickets and go down to the games. I probably spend around $30-50 for parking, tailgating food, concessions at the stadium. Couple that with the amount already paid for the ticket.I have little doubt that the Bengals game against Baltimore will sell out. I think you will see a lot of Baltimore fans buy tickets and head down after their game this Sunday. I think what hurt the Bengals more than anything against the Texans is they don't have a very large fan base, especially in this area.
