Kazkal Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Jets signed QB Mark Sanchez, the No. 5 overall pick, to a five-year, $50 million contract with $28 million in guarantees.Last year's No. 3 pick, Matt Ryan, got $34.75M guaranteed over six years with a $66M base value, so Sanchez gave up some short-term dollars to hit free agency sooner. The deal is also very good for the Jets. Despite only 16 starts at USC, Sanchez is tentatively expected to win the Jets' starting QB job in training camp. Kellen Clemens isn't laying down, however. He's outplayed the rookie throughout OTAs and will likely take the first snap in late July. Now only if the jaguars could hurry up and get monroe so Mikey and co and get to work >_< on Andre. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Can't be considered anything but good news, as the more early players signed, the better our chances of getting Smith signed and in camp on time. Quote
