walzav29
Marvin has gotten rid of a ton of bad attitiudes. Isn't it odd the only 2 guys left complaining are L. Jones and C. Johnson? I think L. Jones will be gone and Chad will be left. He can either get with the program and be a star again or pout and look like a baby. I think Palmer will try and get Chad in line. We will see, but I think we'll see a better attitude this season.

In any case, he's almost certainly gone unless Mikey totally FUBARs the draft.

I think his knee is chop suey and that he will never be at the level that he once was at, thanks for your services Levi you put a smile on my face when you would shut out guys like Suggs. I wouldn't be opposed to that!
Bearcat1975
And yet here's Chad...Chad is in the same boat that Palmer is in.He signed a big contract extension back in the "heady days" of 2005. And then reality set in again. The two have certainly dealt with their dilemma in different ways though haven't they? Of course, they both have very different situations, and therefore different reactions.Palmer most likely will never return to the talent level that made him a #1 pick. Because of his leg injury, he had to change the way he plants his foot from how he had been doing it his entire life. Then his passes started sailing. More INTs, less completions. Then came this season. His accuracy was coming back but he started taking some pretty hard hits. Then he started holding on to the ball too long. Followed of course by the arm injury. Here is a man who feels that the Bengals can be as good as he can make them. No other player is in more of a driver's seat when it comes to the Bengals success, and Palmer knows it. Pride won't let him accept that he is finished. But mark my words, if he isn't benched this season, he'll just go down again. He is stuck here, and likely finished, and there is nothing he can do about it. So with Palmer you get the consummate "company man" 100 percent. A man with no options, resigned to his fate.Chad on the other hand felt that he had options. After all, in the past all you had to do was bash the organization badly enough and you were usually sent your walking papers. "The Pickens Clause," he was probably thinking. So he went on a world tour, bashing the Bengals at every stop. But times had changed. The CBA took out the Pickens Clause. Chad had just signed a huge contract extension. It finally hit Chad that the Bengals totally had him by the balls and there was nothing he could do about it. Well, there were a few things he could do. Pout. Be a distraction. Half-ass it. Then, inevitably, get either injured or "injured." Expect to see 2009 Chad Johnson just going through the motions. Then he will either get injured or "injured" again. The best thing this franchise could do would be to strictly sign players to 3 or 4 year deals. This way, they aren't around long enough to get angry about being a Bengal. So the Bengals would always get 100 percent from that player, and they would also not be around to corrupt the new player's opinions about the franchise. The best thing this franchise could do is trade Palmer and Chad. Release Kelly, Levi, and anyone else who has been with the team 4 years or longer. Start over, and start using the 4 year plan. Marvin and the entire coaching staff would have to go too of course. It is the only way to break the cycle: (disappointment-discovery-anger-acceptance-then bash the hell out of the Bengals on their way out). By keeping contracts to 4 years or less, they move on during the disappointment or discovery stage, which is much much better than what follows. Do you really think that Carson is done and we should trade him? Tell me your joking. If this is the case then the Pats need to trade Tom Brady because his injury was way worse than Palmers. Maybe you should tell Drew Brees you can't come back from an injury, or Chad Pennington, or Jake Delohmme, hell even Big Ben for that matter.Chad Johnson didn't play well last year for the following reasons:1. He didn't train with the team until the preseason2. He was hurt all year long3. He is a deep threat that had a QB with no arm throwing him the ballThat crap you just said was blasphemy. You need to have some faith in your team and your city and your QB.....Sorry moderators, that just pisses me off!
HairOnFire
Immediately after TJ signed with the Seahawks the roundtable on Total Access debated the question of how Chad would respond. Warren Sapp quickly got all big-eyed...(Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about.)....while offering the following bit of advice. "Dont come all into the world like a big red wagon making all kinds of noise saying nuthin'."

You need to have some faith in your team and your city and your QB.....Sorry moderators, that just pisses me off!Palmer being finished is just a gut feeling I have. Given that the Bengals may end up starting two rookies on the OLine, my mind has not changed here. The rest is fact, not blasphemy.
HoTbOy
Hey everyone is entitled to their opinion, with that said I don't think that CPalmer is done, confidence maybe a little shaken but not done...LJones time has come, time to replace him with younger legs, I don't know about attitude he has but performance on the field is certainly lacking, when he is on the field...
