ArmyBengal
Furry is EXACTLY the kind of guy the Bengals will bring in and to tell you the truth, I think Furry would do well here, but Henderson wouldn't bother me either...Sorry I had to chuckle at that I agree with you in that I want Crabtree to fall to us at #6. So we can trade down and take a player that actually makes sense for the Bengals. I like to chuckle to...

How is the guy still in the league?Whoever said Coles isn't as good as Henderson is an idiot. I do agree that Henderson is a better deep threat, and he is younger, but he has brick hands. He is very inconsistent and Coles is a solid veteran that could help develop our youngsters.I watch the Jets and Saints heavily along with the Colts once the Bengals season is lost (Usually by week 5....lol) and I know that Coles is a better fit for the team.I wouldn't be opposed to signing Henderson and cutting Henry though, they are very similar type players! kurgan74
I do not think anyon said Henderson was a better player than Coles, though I do think long term Henderson would be a better option. Henderson is 6 years younger and would likely be less expensive than the 6 million + per season Coles is rumored to want. I figure Mike brown would love the less expensive part. Both bring big play ability to the table. Last year, henderson had 32 catches for 732 yards (24.5 yards per catch) with3 TDS. If the Bengals do sign Coles, I will not be disappointed as he still has some considerable game left. If Coles would help get the Bengals to the playoffs I would be thrilled. I would just like to see team go a little younger and get a guy whom they could keep long term.

I want to win. I am looking at the next two years or so. We already have some young WRs on the roster and always have the opportunity to add more.Chad and Coles will be a good combo with Caldwell in the slot. Coles can give us a solid option until Caldwell and Simpson are ready to take over...which Caldwell may be ready to do anyway.

Kazkal
Brad Johansen said on the news that Coles is using the TJ contract as his starting point and is looking for that type of commitmentIf that's the case i'll pass and I doubt another team would give him the same contract being that Bengals and Vikings didn't want to give TJ that kind of money
derekshank
Brad Johansen said on the news that Coles is using the TJ contract as his starting point and is looking for that type of commitmentColes < HoushI'll pass on giving Coles a deal similar to the Housh deal. My guess is that a quality FA WR signing is merely to enable a Chad trade. While I welcome a Chad trade, I don't want to offer a stupid contract to an aging vet just to get it done. Don't act in desperation. Just trade Chad and continue rebuilding.P.S. As long as we're speculating about FA WR's that are inferior to Housh, Why not the man he replaced in Bobby Engram? He might be a little old, but he has good hands. Look, would you rather have Laveranues Coles at $6 million or Engram at $2 M? Especially when Coles is just as injury prone. I'd say any signing would be a short term stop gap for Simpson and Caldwell's development anyway... so if it's up to me, I say spend less money on WR's and more on other positions of need. James_Brooks21
Brad Johansen said on the news that Coles is using the TJ contract as his starting point and is looking for that type of commitmentThere is no way in hell that he gets anywhere close to the same contract as TJ, Laveranues is known to be injury prone plus he doesn't come with the best of reps. Coles went on record questioning his quarterback while the Jet's were trying to make a playoff run, that just something that you don't do. HairOnFire
Lewis just said something is in the works? He said another signing was imminent, but refused to say it was Coles. They've also been talking to FB's and backup QB's so it's possible that's what he meant.

They've also been talking to FB's and backup QB's so it's possible that's what he meant.I'm betting it's Coles and the Bills have a 3 year, 18 million dollar offer on the table. Expect something like 3 years and 20 million from us. Did anyone else notice in Benson's one-on-one with Hobson, he mentioned Coles by name as joining the team, with relative certanty? Baraka
unfortunately the skins only have four picks in the entire draft and two in the first four rounds. i don't think they'd be willing to give up any more, but we are talking about dan snyder. also, they took two receivers in the second round last year (devin thomas, malcolm kelly) so that's another strike against them wanting ocho, again that doesn't take into account the dan snyder factor

ArmyBengal
I think it means Coles as well. They still have a visit with Losman lined up for Thursday and I can't see them rushing a decision like backup QB when they have no reason to do so. If Coles signs on and they have the chance to trade Chad, I would be overly thrilled. Coles, Henry, Simpson, Caldwell, and whoever else would be a big change for the fans, but it would open things up DRASTICALLY in the draft adding picks.Probably still won't happen, but I can always hope... Clackwoods
Devery Henderson resigned with the Saints so we can stop talking about that one. Robert Mecheam might be available for a trade now, even though I think he is a bust!
