i notice that some people are wanting to sign some vets to teach our young guys how to play. is than not the responsibility of the coaches to teach young players the game?

Yep. I think Zimmer did well in that respect too. Improvement and butt-kicking when applicable. Never hurts to have a vet or two though to help reinforce good habits. Dre Bly seems like a turd to me though so I'm not sure he'd be a good example of a team first leader that will guide youngsters.

Agree with wanting to have players that have been there for a while, know the system, and can assist on the field where the coaches can't. If they can bring in players that come from winning organizations, then that also helps out. Marvin did a pretty good job of that when he first got here in bringing in free agents to try to change the way of thinking. If they only had someone like Zimmer on the offensive side of the ball, it would be awesome. Who knows though, maybe Marvin's "big changes" for the offense will show something new this season. There's always hoping huh ??

It looks like we will have some competition in the Jason Brown sweepstakes.

This doesn't bode well for us, especially considering he is being chased by the Ravens as well.

One thing I thought was interesting is if we do sign Brown away from them does anyone think they will fire back and sign TJ from us?

I figured Miami would be interested in Brown as well when they released Satele. They also have those picks to be able to use on Mack. If they get Brown instead of us, it betters the chance of us getting Mack in the draft. I would just rather free up the draft. As to Baltimore getting TJ, I don't care. I could care less where he goes. The Ravens are going to catch hell in tagging Suggs, signing Lewis back, AND giving Brown what he wants in a new deal...
