Only one way to explain the Stealers greatness

As a Bengals fan, how can you make fun of the Steelers with a straight face?

As an organization, they are everything I wish the Bengals were.

Everything about them screams no-nonsense smash mouth football.

Oh, and by the way, they are young too. And they are not in ANY kind of cap trouble either. No one retiring. So they should only be better next season.

Meanwhile, flip back over to the Bengals horsepoop. As usual, no plan, and no plan for change. Just excuses. From Mike Brown on down. With the handicaps Mike Brown places on his own franchise, the Bengals would have a nearly impossible time in any division at any time. But the Steelers and Ravens being what they are and where they are right now...

Anyway, yeah...go ahead and make your Steelers jokes. But they have owned the Bengals for 17 of the past 18 years. They just won the Super Bowl. Again. And there is nothing on the horizon to indicate that the Steelers will do anything other than build on it.

Just like there is nothing on the horizon to indicate that the Bengals will be anything other than arse next season. No plan, and no plans for change.

"But hey, those Steelers wear funny scarves." Next season when I am watching the Steelers do what they do and the Bengals do what they do, I'm sure I will find that joke a hoot.

The next time you get the urge to poke fun at the Steelers, as a Bengals fan, I want you to look at two web pages:

Here are the Steelers season by season accomplishments:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh_Steelers_seasons

And here are the Bengals season by season "accomplishments" and I use that term loosely:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Bengals_seasons

Since Mike Brown took over full control, the Steelers have only missed the playoffs 6 times out of 18, and they have won 2 Super Bowls. In other words, they go to the playoffs 2 out of every 3 seasons. In that same time period, the Bengals have made just one playoff appearance. A loss.

So dude, make fun of the Browns or whatever. But the Steelers? C'mon... they pwn the Bengals every year.

PS I hate the Steelers. But I admit it is because I want what they have. I think Carson pretty much said the same thing.

You can't make fun of the Steelers organization but u can make fun of their trashy bandwagon fans. Pitt fans r everywhere because they r good and people jump on the bandwagon. They R always the loudest most immature and obnoxious fans around and it spews over to their players. They just have a trashy demeanor to them. Every fan celebrates but they will scream in another fans face and wave that towel in their face as well. It takes place everywhere and it's really annoying to hang out w/ a Pitt fan. I realize that Pitt is a trashy city that has nothing going for it besides football but most of the fans aren't even from there. F**k Pitt. Even the coach is cocky as hell. Did u hear him after the win when he was asked what he thought about when Larry scored the TD. He is one arrogant SOB.

Give me one of the best, if not THE best, ran franchises in the NFL along with 6 Super Bowl titles and I wouldn't give a sh*t what people had to say about it or me as a fan. I love Cincinnati, but lets not twist it into confusing Cincinnati for some super megametropolis worthy of being emulated.

Regretfully agree..i wish we had the same owners as the Squeelers..why is it every year when they say the Steelers wont be as good as the year before they find a way to make it happen...every single year...the Bengals put the ASS in "embarASSing". Its super bowl or bust next year boys im tired of this crap.

(not saying im planning on leaving this team what so ever..just if we dont make the superbowl next year by bust i mean come here and vent for another off-season)

Besides the cheap shots, don't forget they won their superbowls on drugs. Steroids in the 70s, HGH in the 2000s.

When do you ever hear the media or source talk about the steelers asterisk ? you don't only disgruntled Bengal, brown & raven fans.....

Not saying that makes it okay but makes you think....

I don't know if 1 word can explain Steeler greatness, but they are consistent if anything year after year, they have a plan and they stick to it...Run the ball and play smashmouth D...I hate the Steelers, but wish we as an organization was run like them...

Steelers, Indy, Pats, NYG, Ravens show the others how to run a franchise. MB probably knows alot about how those teams operate, the individuals who matter for football operations. For reasons of his own, he ignores what he's learned. While I don't like the Steelers at all, they have entertained with fabulous football over the last 30 years. Last nights game was one of the best athletic contest in my memory. Right up there with the 1976 World Series, game 6. The NFL needs more guys like Rooney and less like Mike Brown.

: / Sad Sad day the steelers were the first to 6 :|,Yet rooney is suppossed be a cheap penny pincher like mr brown yet he still gets it done....

Bleh.....

I know..but like Bearcat said, the Steelers have a plan. The Bengals led by Mike Brown put a team together and "hope" that it wins. The Rooney's want to be the best and are proactive about it....MB hopes to be competitive and thinks "luck" is the reason for his record as an owner and luck is the reason for the Steelers' success.

Sadly this is all true. I hate the Steelers with a passion, but only because they are everything that I want the Bengals to be. Tough. Smash mouth. Consistant winners. Evertime they take the field they have that swagger... they know they are going to win. A far cry from what we get to see every week. Then to make it extra worse, we get to play them twice a year so I get reminded twice a year what my team will never be like. When you compare the histories....... we have nothing to make fun of the Steelers about. I didn't follow the Bengals in 70s, but I have since the early 80's and I hear a lot of people refer to that decade as the great years. The Bengals did go to two Superbowl in the 1980s, but in reality they only made the playoffs three times that decade. Thats not really all that great. We have nothing to make fun of the Steelers about. All they do is keep winning and I admire the way their franchise operates. If only my Bengals could copy them......
