walzav29
I watched the 10 best players not in the HOF (Ken Anderson was #10) and from what I've seen from college Keith reminds me of Derrick Thomas. That would be perfect. If he gets in by Friday I think he'll be ok.
derekshank
Rivers should be a very good player. After all, he was the best LB in the draft... but it might be a bit early to start making Derrick Thomas comparisons. The fact that Thomas isn't in the hall of fame is a joke. He still holds the record for most sacks in a single game (7) and in his 10 year career he averaged more than 12 sacks a season.I was a huge Thomas fan back in the day. He was my favorite non-Bengal while he was playing and he could flat out play. Rivers will not have the kind of sack stats that Thomas had. Simple as that. He may be a more well rounded player - but he won't be Derrick Thomas. I'm not ready to mention him in the same sentence with one of the best to ever play the game. That said, I'm with you - if he gets in soon, he should still be okay this season. Zimmer has even said he hasn't missed much as of yet. But he's got to get his ass in... now!
HairOnFire
Derrick Thomas was a purely downhill sort of player. That's not Rivers.
HAPPYJAQ
If he's somewhere between Lofa Tatupu and Junior Seau, I will be elated! I heard one of his coaches from college comparing him to a Derrick Brooks-type player. I still think Rivers will end up being a MLB sometime in the near future.
