combatbengal Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Any word on when Rivers will be to camp? My opinion on these huge contracts: First of all, these rookies haven't proven themselves in the NFL yet. I think they should come in with a league average of 8-9 hundred thousands for the first years. That's way more then most of these guys have ever seen in one year! If they prove that they can play in the NFL, then give them the big money. That would stop all the hold outs, and ensure that teams don't waste money on bust. I mean come on guys; it's a privilege to play in the NFL. Quote
Ickey44 Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Hopefully Goodell can work that out for the next CBA. He's been saying for months how ludicrous these rookie contracts are. Quote

Well, yeah, but if a new pay scale is incorporated into the new CBA, then there won't be a whole lot to argue about. From what I'm hearing the only person who doesn't want a rookie pay scale is Gene Upshaw. The players want it. Quote
