Dhani Jones, MLB, Cincinnati Bengals. Jones, 30, revived his career after Cincinnati picked him up off the street last September. He started the final eight games on the weak side, finished second on the team in tackles and was the special teams captain. It looks like Jones now will move into the middle and give new coordinator Mike Zimmer’s defense a veteran presence inside. That also should help accelerate the development of third-year ‘backer Ahmad Brooks, who will move outside.

Good to see someone outside Cincy appreciate Dhani. I personally I love the guy probably one of the most down to earth guys in the NFL (I mean he rides a bike to the stadium, maybe its just me but cant exactly see Chad doing that) he gives his all every play with what talent he has, hope he has a great year.

I like what he was able to do for us in horrible circumstances last year as well and it's a real pleasant surprise to me that he's back again for this season. That said, I'm just not sure how down to Earth he is -- eccentric maybe. He had his face on the NFLN promos for a couple of years with his bowtie, etc., so he's certainly had more than his share of exposure for a relative journeyman LB. He plays rugby in Europe in the offseason. I think he also plays classical music or something like that. He is a very interesting cat, no doubt, but I'm not sure how "average-joe" he is.

That's cool -- I wasn't bashing you or anything. I find him to be an interesting personality. I was prepared to dislike him based on the aforementioned "overexposure" thing, but the more I learn about him the less I think that way. He's somewhat of a renaissance man it seems -- a lot of different interests and about as far from the prevailing hip hop culture as anybody in the league.
