Bengals web site

Recommended Posts

I was just feeding my daily Bengal appetite and clicked on the official Bengals web site and noticed Chad’s picture missing. It was replaced with TJ’s image. Chad has really screwed himself. A few months ago, he introduced the word to the businessman (Chad), and stated that he had to take care of himself and business. Thus far, he’s done an in creditable job. Let’s see, he demanded a trade and found out that he lost that battle. He’s threatened to sit out which will only cause him to lose money. The Bengals sent him a message by drafting WR’s. I took a trip to Cincy this past weekend for Memorial Day and stopped by a few sports stores for sales. They had great sales all over, 50% off. Any how, I inquired about Chad’s merchandise at these stores and it appears that nobody is purchasing anything with Chad on it. So it appears that he’s just about lost his fan base in the Queen city. The only thing left to lose is all of his endorsements and commercials, and that’s coming. Chad, at one time, this city embraced you, and considered you as a gifted, genuine professional athlete. However, you’ve abandon the Bengals, turned your back on your coaches, teammates and fans. You should have kept your nose out of business and just played football. Oh I know, the NFL is a business. However, every player has an agent to take care of that aspect of the job.

Now we move on to build a better team for 2008. Rudi appears to be healthy and ready to carry the load. Palmer is pumped and working with the new guys. The def should be better with the upgrades to LB and additions to the line. This is going to be an exciting season and I for one can not wait. 2008, we vote for a new leader (Good by Bush), and the Bengals get an overhaul and have a break out year!

Awesome Post! Count me in as one that is excited about the upcoming season, as well. I watched the NFL Network's 10 biggest busts of all time that included Akili Smith and David Klinger and realized how far we've come since the days of Jeff Query and Reggie Rembert and when aging free only aging/injured veterans like Richmond Webb, Daniel Stubbs and Louis Oliver would come to the Bengals would come to the Bengals over market value, just to get one last huge payday. I think that people forget that sometimes. Now.....If we could just only get over that hump.

We’re bound to improve this year! We’ve gotten rid of problem players, drafted players to improve our Def, fired the DC and hired a new one, coaches are getting tougher and standing their ground, injured players are getting healthy, revamping the playbooks, etc. It’s coming together. This has to be our break out year.

Contingent on 3 things:

1. The offensive line must play their asses off! Run blocking MUST improve 100%.

2. Obviously the defense must play as a UNIT. No more Landon Johnson and Justin Smith to make taclkles 20 yards downfield. We MUST stop the run and we MUST pressure the QB.

3. Carson Palmer has to lead this team. IMHO, we're only as good as Carson and we'll only go as far as Carson can carry us. A lot of pressure on Palmer this upcoming season.

I wish I had your optimism. I wonder how long you guys have actually been Bengals fans to have optimism like this? IMHO, this team is going to have to get really lucky to ever be able to make it to a superbowl. Until Mike Brown relinquishes control of football operations this team will be forever handicapped. To a certain extent, I sympathize with Chad. I just hate the way he's going about escaping from footballs version of Alcatraz. I don't see how people can say that our D will be better difinitively. Let's wait until we see these guys in action.

Well, let's see, we got rid of the DC and brought in fesh blood. The playbook is bein revamped. We signed Antwan Odom who should improve the line. We drafted Keith Rivers, Pat Sims, and three other def players. I'll tell you this, the squad won't be last this year!
