BengalPimp
Fact: The bengals season last year was horribleWhile last season was a disappointment at 7-9, I would hardly call it "horrible", Obviously you werent around for the 90's. HAPPYJAQ
It still blows me away that some Bengals fan believe that T.J. not showing up for the voluntaries is a non-issue, because he had a good individual season last year after missing them. If that's the thinking, why does the league even mandate that every team have one? I agree with TJ Jackson on how it affects more than just him, in missing them. I hope that he and Chad are the last of the selfish Bengals from the Carl Pickens/Corey Dillon mold.
agreen_112
TJ should be here. How many other #2 recievers miss voluntaries? What pisses me off the most about Chad is that he doesn't care about Carson... Carson had a decent season last year but he and Chad were definitely off on their timing. Carson also overthrew alot of balls to his recievers... Everyday Chad sits out, he's wasting valuable time that Carson needs. I think that if Chad sits out all through camp, as much as I hate to say it, he should 100% most definitely be benched the whole year... Carson needs Chad, this team needs Chad. DC_Bengals_Fan
I'm pretty sure this is a big deal out of nothing.Maybe it is...maybe it isn't. There's been plenty of discussion among Bengals fans recently about the trouble you get into when there are more than one set of rules for players. TJ can blow off the voluntaries because, well, he's TJ. If some third-string special teams LB did this, you know that in the coaches' book that guy's chances of making the final roster just slipped, "voluntary" workouts or no.Yeah, that's the veteran's prerogative. That 3rd-team LB definitely needs to be in camp to learn the defense and improve the game. Here, we have the same QB and OC and HC that we've had for 4 years. TJ knows them as well as he's going to. Let's remember, this is *May*. The season doesn't even start for *4 months*.You see this more and more all around the league. The older vets are staying home during OTAs to spend time with families, work out with (in all likelihood) better training staff with more personalized attention.Let's judge the result on the field, because he was fine last year. mgilgris
Unfortunately I was around for the 90's and the 80's and yes last season was horrible. That is the problem with Cincinnati, we have been bad for so long that when we play alright we get complacent. Other cities would not take the losing so well. Dadraftnick
Chad and TJ's stunts are all about the money.Chad even said ,and I quote "its always about the money".If you look at all the players demanding a trade they all have have the same slimeball agent as Chad.At least with T.J. this is his contract year. With Chad,he cant stand the thought of T.J. getting more money than him.Chad has had his contract extended quite a few times and is under contract for many years down the road he just doesnt intend on being a man of his word. There is no doubt that money is more important than winning to either of them and they are doing this on the advice of their agents. The real question that I have is does Mike Brown care enough about winning? If you look at the the other teams in the division all of them have went out and got what they needed to win, either through the draft, free agency ,or trades.Mike Brown not so much. PhunkE1
Fact: The bengals season last year was horribleWhile last season was a disappointment at 7-9, I would hardly call it "horrible", Obviously you werent around for the 90's.I will argue that last season was far worse than any season in the 90's. Expectations, my dear men, made last year oh so painful. 06 was up in the air from the beginning, with Palmer's knee. I really felt we had a shot to make some noise in 07. At least compete for the division, but we dug ourselves such a whole it made Nov and Dec obsolete. In the 90's we all knew we were going to suck. If we won 7 games it was considered a success. As far as the whole TJ thing goes, I think this is TJ's way of saying he's gone after this year. This is when the leaders on your football team step up. TJ's not a stupid insecure man like some other receiver we have. I feel he'd be here if he had intentions of resigning. Of course I could be blowing this way out of proportion. Only time will tell.
