Spor_tees
Looks like Ken is staying put in Cincy...yet even without an opening it still looks like the Bengals might make a spot to add Hue Jackson. He definitely can't go back to Atlanta because the new coach already hired an offensive coordinator eventhough Jackson is still under contract.Bengals' Zampese to stay putBY MARK CURNUTTE | MCURNUTTE@ENQUIRER.COME-mail thisE-mail | Printer-FriendlyPrint | digg us! | del.icio.us! * | Listen to this article or download audio file. Click-2-ListenThe Bengals probably will have Ken Zampese as their quarterbacks coach for at least one more season and could be back in the running to bring back former wide receivers coach Hue Jackson, as well.Former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Al Saunders is working on a contract to become coordinator for the Rams, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Monday afternoon.Saunders was let go over the weekend, along with defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, by the Redskins in the wake of the retirement of former head coach Joe Gibbs. Washington hired Jim Zorn as its offensive coordinator late last week, though it has yet to name a head coach.Jackson, the Redskins offensive coordinator in 2003, was thought to be a candidate for same job this offseason.Zampese and Jackson were the only other two candidates interviewed by Rams head coach Scott Linehan for the coordinator job in St. Louis.Zampese was a Rams assistant coach from 2000-02, and Jackson, who spent last season as Atlanta's offensive coordinator, wanted to exhaust all avenues to remain a play-caller on an NFL staff.Jackson was Bengals wide receivers coach from 2004-06. He remains under contract with the Falcons but was allowed to seek another job after the season because the club was looking for a new head coach. It hired former Jacksonville defensive coordinator Mike Smith last week. Smith then hired former Buffalo head coach Mike Mularkey as Falcons offensive coordinator. The Bengals have no openings on their coaching staff now. Mike Sheppard replaced Jackson as wide receivers coach a year ago. Contracts vary, but the Bengals might be able to add Jackson to the staff.
