rwalling
I found this type of article to be a common theme on the sports side of the web (Fox, Yahoo, etc.). Thoughts?http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7701088...ould-make-noise I completely agree. The starting pitching starts with Harang and Arroyo, who will both post more wins and stay fresher with an improved pen. Belisle with another year's experience. The back end has five live arms to choose from (Volquez, Maloney, Bailey, Cueto, Affeldt) instead of the annual parade of old, stiff, junk throwers. Cordero and the fall out from the starter competition (Affeldt and Belisle could each go to long relief) makes the pen better. There may also be some addition by subtraction (ru reading this Mr. Stanton?).Dunn, Philips, Junior are given. EdE, Votto, Bruce all offer nothing but upside. Keppinger, Hatteberg and Freel/Hopper offer protection if they struggle.AlGon and Ross/Valentin are serviceable with good defense and the bench strength appears better. What's not to like? We may not compete this year, but watching the stud young arms come into their own this year in anticipation of 2009 will be worth it.
