DuffMan
Ellis's size doesnt really scare me considering the impact of 'undersized' players such as Bob Sanders and Dwight Freeney. If he's there we take him.
HairOnFire
Didn't a player do that last year and then enter? I wouldn't doubt it. That said, Pete Carrol has had more success than most convincing his juniors to stay, and I fully expect Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing to return next season. BTW, Cushing is outstanding in pass coverage and should be very highly rated next year. As for Lawrence Jackson, he asked the NFL for a draft evaluation after last season and admitted that it wasn't as glowing as he had hoped. Early 2nd round to mid 3rd. That's about where I had him pegged and to be perfectly honest I didn't think he improved at all this year. But I do like bigger DE's more than most and I think he's a very good prospect....but not a special player. In fact, I think his current backup, Everson Griffin, is far more explosive and will eventually develope into a much better player. But in Jackson's defense there are some who think he'll actually be a more productive player in the NFL due to having to face fewer running QB's. markymark69
With the way the season went, the Bengals could anywhere except k/p/qb/wr in the first round. I am hoping for DL or a speed guy on the edge whether that is an outside backer or DE. Gholston, if he goes, may be a reach at nine, I think he would fit the bill. I see Ellis and Chris Long as other possibilities. Some other names to consider for later rounds, J Lehman LB Illinois and Michigan State TE Kellen Davis (I think that's his name). I also see a guy like Jamaal Charles at RB with Perry and Irons' health and issue and Rudi most likely being gone. Watson did fine this year and deserves a shot to be the top guy, but there has to be somebody else besides Dorsey as the back-up. If Perry and Irons can go then the RB question becomes a non-factor, but if they can't that is a position that needs to be addressed somewhere in the draft. benny44
I would love for the Bengals to draft Rucker the TE from Missouri. He can be had in the 2nd or 3rd round. The kid can catch, run and block. He is a stud.
kentjett
DE will be our biggest need when Justin leaves. Gholston and Chris Long are absolute beast and they both have NFL bodies. If either are available, we cannot pass them up.
cincy9275
veron gholston is the best choice if he is there when we pick. especially after what tressel said about him " veron best football is still ahead of him." after hearing tress say that, i want him that much more. not only that veron has great character and is a team player he said "i would rather win than that have great stats." good character great upside, big, fast, strong, i don't see how we can go wrong with him. ArmyBengal
Many mocks I have seen are now placing Gholston in the top 10 and going as high as #6. His stock is going no where but up and by the time the draft rolls around, he may be out of reach.WHODEY !!!
