GregCook
The Bengals record doesn't stand on its own, it has an uglier side to it as well. The 6 teams beaten by the Bengals this year have a record of 23-47. If they beat the Phins, then it goes to 24-62. You can't say your team is "close" to the playoffs if you can only beat the worst teams in the NFL.Now look at their losses. They lose to teams with a combined record of 80-55 going into Miami. If the Bengals lose to Miami, then this record goes to 82-69. This number right hear says the Bengals can't beat the good teams and in fact beat just two teams with winning records, Clowns and Titans. So my question, if I was a reporter talking to Marvin, is how do the Bengals ever get to the promised land unless they have a schedule of nothing but the worst teams in the NFL? The point of view that really scares me is Brown and Marvin saying "Look at our tough schedule this season, we played the best teams in the NFL and we played with lots of injuries. So we'll be fine next season when we have our guys healed up, so no reason to blow up the team"
