bigdaddybengal Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 I'm glad we took this kid, and still can't believe he fell to us. Glad to see him getting us some recognitionhttp://www.footballgameplan.com/nfl-rookie-watch-d/Get Well Rudy Quote
JoePong Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Cornerbacks usually struggle in their rookie seasons and make a big jump in the 2nd year. Joseph is sort of an exception as he has struggled a bit, but I suspect that is mainly due to his injury. He's still kind of working his way back into things. Hall will be a good player. Quote
agreen_112 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 There's not a doubt in my mind that Hall will be a good player, as a matter of fact, I think Hall will be a very great corner. He has a knack for the ball. If you've noticed, his hands are always going for the ball either when he's tackling or defending the pass. One play that stands out was when he was coming off a corner blitz, he was a split second from getting a huge turnover because he knew exactly where the QB had the ball. Another was the TD that Randy Moss snatched up over his head. If that wasn't Moss, Hall had a good shot at disrupting the catch. This skill will help him force a lot of turnovers. I think he has it all; speed, smarts, ball skills, and most importantly tackling... So far, the best defensive play of the year was the ball he defended at the goaline this past Sunday against Coles. 7 times out of 10 that ball gets knocked straight up in the air and the safety picks it off. Hall is the best #1 pick we've had since CP! Quote
Kazkal Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Wasn't the TD over CB's head on Jjoe? where he was simply just outsized? Quote
agreen_112 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Wasn't the TD over CB's head on Jjoe? where he was simply just outsized? At least 1 of Moss's TD grabs was against Hall, and yes it was mostly due to the fact that Moss simply outsized him. BUT, if you noticed, Hall instictively went straight for the ball after he was burnt off the line... Just watch Hall play, you'll see what I'm talking about, his ball skills are extremely good... Hall will get better at pressing the recievers at the line of scrimage too (if the coaches run it more). He's going to make a lot of good things happen for this defense in the future. Quote
HairOnFire Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Moss used his size to defeat tight coverage from Joseph on a jump ball. (Joseph didn't jump.) Moss beat Hall when the later failed to jam at the LOS...and then made an easy catch when Hall slipped into trail technique. In my opinion both of Hall's mistakes were fatal errors coming so close to the endzone. Quote

Brady's pass didn't help JJ cause either! There isn't a corner in the league that has covered Moss this year, it's close to impossible... Hall will remember that rookie moment for the rest of his career. Quote
