jjakq27
After a mysterious fire in their equipment room two weeks ago, that destroyed their uniforms, the Taft Senators received new ones the other day. With support from the community and restaranteur Jeff Ruby they are looking better than ever. The smile on head coach and former Bengal Mike Martin's face says it all. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...09230420/-1/allhttp://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...09150425/-1/allhttp://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...09140014/-1/all
jjakq27
Coach Martin and his staff have done wonderful things at Taft. Several years ago there was no football program at Taft. Now through his hard work and leadership they have become very competive and just missed the playoffs last season. I have had the opportunity to be around Coach Martin and to see the good he has done as a mentor and a father figure to many of the kids. He has given these guys a chance to have some great life experiences and get out of the rut of the inner city. Hopefully people will contribute to this project. If anyone is interested in making a donation for the uniform replacement project, please send it to:Robert A. jjakq27
PS: For some of the younger crowd out there, Mike Martin was a WR and Kick Returner for Sam Wyche and the Bengals during the mid-80's. He is also the guy that is credited with coming up with the "Who-Dey Rap" song in 1988 during the Bengals Super Bowl run.
