Kazkal
Is the Superfan worth the upgrade?
kenyon1977
Not unless you are watching the game on a second TV and use it on a bi screen off to the side.I use 6 TV's to run 6 games at once and it pretty much makes everyone happy that way. After you pay for the ticket each box is 5 bucks a month so it's not too bad. It's like watching picture in picture in picture in picture, etc.. etc... kenyon1977
The game on HD is awesome. I got a plasma and the HD receiver and it's just amazing at the difference in detail and how much more of everything you can see being in wide screen. Tell Directv when you call that you want if for nada and you know others that have gotten it free. But you only need it if you have HD, its the only way to get HD for most, but not all, of the NFL games.
kenyon1977
I've been a direct tv subscriber for years now and I tell them I'll switch to cable about once a year and they give me NFL ticket at half price and then free movies channels and I got my HD receiver free.Call and bitch about how new subscribers get all the free stuff and that you want to cancel. THey'll transfer you to the disconnect guys which are still in the USA and those are the guys that will give you free stuff and keep you as a customer. The first 800 number you call for Direct TV is in India and they don't have the ability to give you anything for free.Just FYI

Best Buy also sells them.
walzav29
If you had to pick. Go with Sirius satellite radio. You have to have the Sunday ticket. That's a given, but the superfan ticket doesn't seem worth it.

That's a given, but the superfan ticket doesn't seem worth it.Now that is a good point as I did just that last month. I cancelled NFL Sunday and went with Sirius and their NFL broadcasts of all games. I am just not home enough on Sunday to spend the coin. Plus I've now discovered Howard Stern and all the great music they play. Its cheaper than NFL Sunday ticket and I use it every single day.For the record here is what I've gotten from DirecTV for free. Two HD receivers and HD NFL plus countless free non HD receivers back in the day. Also new antennas plus free installation over the years. I haven't had to pay for hardware in years basically. To get this you do have to bitch and moan alittle with Directv. They also have this thing where they rank customers based upon how much money you spend with them. The more you pay them, the easier it is for you to get hardware and services for free.
DesperateDerelict
Am I to assume that my 19" Sylvania with the "rabbit ears" isn't sufficiently high-tech to enjoy watching the black and orange (sometimes gray & pink)?
