Just curious if we have any body builders here in the zone ?? I started lifting again about 4 months ago (nothing else to do) and was curious if anyone with a background knows about supplements ?? I've managed to lose over 25 pounds since being here, some to water loss, some to cardio, and some to weight lifting

(140 degree temps don't hurt) and I was just wondering...

when i was training to fight martial arts i put on 12 pounds of muscle in 11 weeks. thats while maintaining 7 to 9 percent body fat. i did that with a tremendous amount of cardio including distance runs and calesthenics. i took in 3,500 calories a day staying below 30 grams of fat. I drank weightgain shakes with milk bases, fruit, nuts, yogurt, and creatin. if I hadn`t been doing 15 hours of cardio each week I would have gained more. But cardio is very important in fighting.

just FYI, i used a body weight and fat diet analyzer program that anyone can buy. That program analyzed my regular daily diet and told me exactly what foods were causing my to either be too fat or too skinny. I suggest you ask your PT guy on the base or look for the CD program yourself. Calories, saturated fats, and proteins are the key.

Muscle Milk Protein, creatine, fish oil. Tons of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT cardio) with heavy weight training. Go hard or go home. You'll only get so big unless you do circuits/supersets and use some type of supplements... Oh yeah and a Mens Multi vitamin from GNC.

Well, at it stands, I currently do 10 hours of cardio per week (all first thing in the morning) and then lift in the afternoon. I take off Sundays, but any other day is like I mentioned. I've worked the Creatine and Protein and am looking at a Nitric Oxide like NaNO9. Are either of you familiar with that product ?? I looked it up, but all you get is the infomercial add type crap and I was looking for something along the lines of an unbiased opinion of someone who has tried it. My diet is a little more challenging over here due to the limited variety of foods we can get in the combat zone, but right now I'm working oatmeal for breakfast, some protein bars as snacks and then whatever might be served in the chow hall, which is not to bad. I don't have any resources to go to here as we are in the middle of nowhere along the Pakistan border, so I figured I ask here. Thanks for the info so far !!!

Check out calorie-count.com There's a lot of knowledgable people there that can help better than anyone here. After you register use as many tools as you can on there including recording what food you eat each day. It will rate your calories and break down everything for you and give you a grade of A-F.
