James_Brooks21
I'm not a big Chris Henry supporter but I did stand in his corner about that suspended license thing, when everybody wanted to throw him under the bus. Chris Henry only had to pay a $30 dollar fine to get his license back. Read the article and will state just like I said many people have suspended license and are not aware of it, give the man a little break I know he has a lot but don't jump on him for something so trivial.http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...160045/1062/SPT
duus
Good for him. I think this will make life a little easier for him. I am obviously not his biggest fan in the world either (well, I am when he is on the field!), but I still cannot help but scratch my head a bit why he was given 8 games when he missed two last year (suspension) and was forced to sit another by the team. That's a total of 11 ... that's why I thought his suspension should have been around 4 games.

Forget that DUI? Come on. He knew damned well his license was suspended and drive anyway. Shows a lack of responsibility and contempt for the law.You have to screw up pretty bad on a regular basis to get your license suspended. Just one more link in the Chris Henry turd chain. You know when I'll give him a break? When he stops screwing up on a regular basis and shows an ounce of contrition. Neither has happened to date.I do agree with you that Goodell should have considered the suspensions last year "time served" though.
jjakq27
He was pulled over for some type of driving "non-conformance" not because his license was under suspension. Let's keep the events in the proper order. Also I agree with DC that there doesn't seem to be any type of contrition at all, not even a forced or scripted one. I find that a little bothersome. bengalsfan17
how do you get your license back when you drive with it suspended? my friend got in trouble driving under suspension and it got suspended for another year...i guess thats what the nfl players get, a slap on the wrist..i still think he hasnt learned his lesson and he should be gone

Let's keep the events in the proper order. Also I agree with DC that there doesn't seem to be any type of contrition at all, not even a forced or scripted one. I find that a little bothersome. The driving non-conformance that you are talking about is making an illegal left hand turn, not exactly jail related material. Just because this man does not come on t.v. and cry like Jim Baker does not mean he does not have any remorse. Also it depends on what your license is suspended for, his license was not suspended for the incident it was suspended for not paying all the fines for the incident. I'm sure he was not aware of the fine, i'm sure he had 30 bucks in his ashtray to pay for that ticket. Think about things for a second the man plays with Cincinnati he's not from Cincinnati so guess what that means he probably has an out of state drivers license, next I think I read an article that his family house was destroyed during hurricane Katrina thus maybe when they sent out the notice for the fine needing to be paid or suspended license to his New Orleans DMV on record residence that it was not his true residence anymore. I'm pretty sure he is not the most responsible adult and took the time to change his drivers license over to his new residence. I live outside of D.C. myself and still have a Ohio drivers license with a Cincinnati address, but guess what I don't live in Cincinnati anymore if I get in any trouble with a speeding ticket or anything they are going to send any notification to the address on my license unless I tell them not to. I can do that though I'm in the Marines and my home of record is still Cincinnati. Not to make excuses for the man but s**t happens. That man is not getting a slap on the wrist, the judge apparently has seen people come in to the court room before Henry not knowing there license was suspended that's why he knew the program to refer him to. The Judge is not going to come down on somebody for not paying a 30 dollar ticket when there income is equal to what Henry's is making, the Judge realizes that he had no problem paying the ticket if he was aware of it and was not dodging it. I should be a defense lawyer.
DC_Bengals_Fan
I should be a defense lawyer.Yeah, you have the whole "he's just a victim of society" thing down. The problem with the defending Henry business is that if you focus on any one thing, they range from not that bad (suspended license) to somewhat bad (the underage hoochie and gun waving incidents). None of them are as bad as the crap that Tank Johnson or Crapman Jones get into. The main problem is that they never stop. People don't just get arrested as many times in a year as Henry has without being an idiot. How many cops you barfed on this year? How many cops you waved a gun at? How many underage sluts have you screwed in a hotel room? How many DUIs you have? I'm hoping the answers are 0, 0, 0, and 0.At some point, you grow up and take care of your problems. Henry hasn't. You can't justify things with the "just one mistake" excuse. This is a pattern.

Next time Chris Henry gets in trouble you don't have to worry about a thing because he will be gone and possibly out of the league. I don't think he's a victim of society at all, he's a grown man and he knows the difference between right and wrong so he's not a victim at all. I don't codone any of those things that he did but I was not ready to hammer the man for a $30 dollar ticket he failed to pay to get his license suspended. I agree with whole heartedly that he is an idiot, when I see his name on t.v. that comes to mind everytime.
jjakq27
JB, all I was trying to say was that he wasn't pulled over because he had an expired license. He did something that got himself noticed. Then they found out about his license. And I agree that he doesn't need to sob like Jimmy Swaggart. And he may have also apologized to his teammates, etc. However an act of contrition could also mean staying away from trouble or not getting into to trouble again. Let's hope that he has learned his lesson and can do the right thing.
