AGrizzlyBaer Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 get rid of him and bring up claussin Quote
Kirkendall Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Not yet. We're notorious for bringing up guys before their time. Let him develop. Haynes is a #5 starter anyway, they typically pitch less games than the first four. Anyway, it wasn't Haynes that lost the game, it was our bull pen that allowed the lead to get too big. Quote

Yea, I have to agree with that as well. Hopefully he'll return to his 15-10 form... Reds vs. Braves tonight.. on Fox Sport Channel. Go REDS! Quote

Go REDS! Not likely, look at his career stats, they suggest that was nothing more than an abberation. I wish him luck though! Quote
Jungle_Fever Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 I agree. Haynes appears to be the only weak link in the starting rotation right now. Quote
Kirkendall Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Don't be too worried fellas, Haynes is the fifth starter and they traditionally are fillers when there's no day off for over 5 days. Positively, we face the other teams #5 starter most of the time, so we can produce some runs and help out our boy Jimmayyy. Quote
middy19 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 How is Claussen doing in the minors because every time Haynes pitches it is going to be a loss unless the teams scores 10 runs for the game. I would rather have Claussen go through the growing pains than see Haynes pitch one more game. Quote
jditty47 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 he only had 1 bad inning today...giving up a granny but it was full count with 2 outs and bases loaded... Quote
The Brew Man Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 I say give Claussen more time, at least until June, but take Jimmy out of that rotation, now! Quote
Kirkendall Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 We did. Now we have Van Poppel as our savior in the #5 slot. This will instantly improve EVERYTHING! LOLI agree, I think we should just give Classen more time; what could we lose? However, we could bring up the two guys we got for the Reitsma trade. Quote
The Brew Man Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Yeah, Bong is looking good right now in AAA. As far as Van Poppell goes....... Quote
Kirkendall Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 As far as Van Poppell goes....... Isn't that the dumbest decision of all time in Reds history? Quote
redsfan2 Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 As far as Van Poppell goes....... Isn't that the dumbest decision of all time in Reds history? Nooo ........ that'd still have to be the Robinson trade. #2'd have to be Concepcion ....... #3'd have to be Perez ........ and #4'd have to be Klu.This one is fifth tops. Quote
