HairOnFire
And maybe if Carson Palmer smoked a little weed he woudn't have sucked so badly during the stretch drive at season end. I mean, you never know, right? Let's all admit the obvious. When it mattered most great guys like Carson, Chad, Opie, and Brad St.Louis tanked so badly that our bodacious playoff buzz was wickedly harshed. Or if you prefer...bungled. And THAT is an image problem I actually care about.
BengalByTheBay
why don`t we all just man up and say what we really mean? i know, we are all thinking, smoking weed makes a weak football player. Right? And going out and drinking late and driving cars makes weak football players. Now, it is time we at Bengalszone and the country as a whole admits that these two hobbies can be disruptive if not done in moderation. Partying for the sake of partying is disruptive. But partying to enjoy life, while doing so in moderation, has almost no ill effect whether it be with weed, alchohol, or both simultaneously. The key lies in how you go about your party. Don`t drive in a car. Don`t go to work. Don`t go on TV or go to practice. A party should be outside the realm of normal activity. If those are your normal activities, a party should logically occur at spaced intervals. All the while, when partying, you will consider your responsibilities and not damage your football team in anyway.Come on Gap, apparently being a fan makes it okay for you to nitpick at any and every activity of the players who play for your team. Remember, on this very board it frequently appears that Chad Johnson would be so much better if he stopped eating and McDonalds and took better care of his body. In other words, we know better what these players should do for themselves (despite the fact that they've actually made it to the NFL) than they do. With every purchase of a Bengal jersey, comes the right to tell everybody on the team and coaching staff what to do....free.Maybe he would actually intercept some of the passes that he so adeptly bats down if he wasn't high all the time. It is starting to make some sense now at least. He should have had like 10 picks when Baltimore came in. Guess that's why he plays defense...Wow! Okay, now he's playing stoned. Good point. buck3y3d
I would hardly call Chris Henry's season great. Stat wise, sure he had a good season. But we all know he dropped way too many balls and at times he could easily have put more effort when going after balls.Sure, he wants to protect himself. But TJ and Chad are great recievers because they are able to seperate that fear of getting leveled from their play. We've seen both these guys leave their feet and get clocked, while Henry is reluctant to even dive for a ball. Henry, great season? Not with the number of dropped balls he had.But I agree that Joseph had a very good season.

Chad dropped way too many balls when it counted. And so did TJ. And it's true that Henry was also guilty of dropping too many passes. But there's the rub because Henry lacks a reserve of built up goodwill that would allow fans like you to make excuses for him in the same way you do for Chad. I didn't. You are right Chad dropped too many balls, but I never said he had a great season either. I said he was a great reciever. I really don't remember TJ dropping too many passes (I wish they kept stats). Henry lacks built up good will not because he was arrested, but because his effort is lacking. He made good plays n both the Denver and Pit games, but he also made awful plays in both games (I remember him dropping a very easy TD). When he puts in the effort, than I will give him the goodwill.
