2007 Draft and Free Agency

You guys are leaving out a guy on defense that is going to be a real stud in the NFL. He has the size and most importantly the speed needed to play "Marvin's" style of football. Buster Davis from Florida State would make a huge impact for the Bengals especially if David Pollack's career is over. If you watched any Florida State games this year you would have noticed this guy is like a guided missile ALL over the field and brings the whoop'n shed when he gets to the ball carrier.

with Stieny and Justin leaving via FA, the Bengals will get compensatory draft picks. With a trade, they might end up with 10 or 11 picks next year, with an extra 2ed or 3rd too.

I don't think these compensatory picks are awarded until the year AFTER they leave....so....if we lose a top FA in the 2007 FA signing period, we wouldn't get the compensatory pick til 2008.

I think.

also -- Tasher: please don't let WhurCHadAt know there is a defensive player named "Crowder" in the upcoming draft class......

We will only get a pick, if the designated as a franchise player, and you can only have 1 franchise player, if they are not traded, then the Bengals must tender them a 1 year offer based upon the average of the top 3 players at thier positions...thats can be a cap-buster.....if they are restricted free-agents, then the Bengals have the right to match any offer, or let them leave, but then they usually just get a Late round pick...usually not very good
