Dawg BpG
just think....we could be the Brownies still waiting for a .500 season. Brown bag anyone? You have just as many playoff trips as us since we came back into the league. We made the playoffs BEFORE the Bungals and we had to start from scratch in 1999. Bengalhead
I was absolutely disgusted today with the defense, but that was a given, and I accept that we, as fans, have no control whatsoever over that. But tell me how loyal our fanbase is when they LEAVE the stadium before the 4th quarter even started? After that fumble and consequent LT touchdown, I would say that only about 65-75% of the stadium, if even that, still remained. Down by 4 with LOADS of time left, and not to mention, possession of the football, a lot of people left. It got so bad, that even the commentator noticed it. Do we have the worst fans in the NFL? And I hate those bulls**t excuses like "it was too chilly and miserable" outside...Tell that to the Green Bay fans who go to games where the temp is below 0.That was just plain embarrassing. I can understand leaving in droves if we're getting blown out, but this was just terrible fan loyalty.Anyone else notice this?Good god man! are you aware of what we've been put through over the past decade. Bengal fans have EARNED the right to do whatever they dang well please when it comes to supporting this team. There is not another fanbase in football that has been put through what we've endured. Personally, I didn't think it was smart to leave before the game was over in this situation, but I do NOT fault anyone for being disgusted.I don't want to hear ANYTHING incriminating about Bengal fan loyalty. Quite the contrary to your opinion, Bengal fans have to be the most loyal fans in football. Remember back to all of those horrible teams in the 90's and 2000. Our team was beyond horrendous and there were still 55,000 people there every week. THAT is loyalty - . Futhermore, ever since the first real hint that the team was actually coming around, the stadium has been sold out- every week. CASE CLOSEDThis is a ridiculous topic.I was there. The fans were loud, especially on defense.I didn't see large groups of people leave until the last drive ended.People can only scream and yell so much when the defense once again just flat out sucks. It's not the lack of a 12th man that's the cause of the Bengals losing at PBS,it's the pathetic play(for the most part) of the Bengals defense.AGREED! A full decade of losing, and now--- what seems to be a pretty definite sophomore slump, has a way of making fans cynical/defeatist. If anyone is to blame it's not the people themselves but the organization for creating a culture of losing in the first place.I will say though, whoever designed the open-air escalators in PB stadium must have had no idea what a laughable and telling barometer of fan's faith they were creating. My Dad and I coined it "the loser-vator" because if the Bengals seem to be falling out of a game, look to the escalators and you will see a true indication of whether fans are giving up/fed up. What's really funny is you can even see this in the background on TV broadcasts of games. It's worthy of camera closeups, just like how NBC used to focus in on Art Modell's luxury box when the Browns were losing, hoping to catch him looking pissed off or nervous.Kinnebrewski, You are exactly right in all respects here. I agree 100%. I also agree that thos "loser-vator" were a great example of a good idea that wasn't thought through completely. I think it's cool that they are there, but they are perfect fodder for the TV cameras when the Bengals are losing.just think....we could be the Brownies still waiting for a .500 season. Brown bag anyone? You have just as many playoff trips as us since we came back into the league. We made the playoffs BEFORE the Bungals and we had to start from scratch in 1999. BengalByTheBay
I'm entitled to my opinion and nothing I've read in this thread is at all convicing that I'm wrong.Of course you're not wrong. You're adding to a debate that's about one's personal opinion. You can't be wrong if the topic is subjective to one's personal beliefs -- unless it's religion. I think a good fan is someone I can sit with at a bar and talk Bengals. So you and I are at a difference of opinion and we're both 100% correct.Good point -- let's go get a beer. MacD BengalFan
I lived for 12 years in LA and this is exactly the argument they always make about why LA fans aren't really that bad -- "maybe they have better things to do than watch the end of the game."They actually had better things to do then to attend the game. Even the city government doesn't really care to have a team there as well. When the local leaders don't care, then the same attitue is reflected by the citizens.
