A tale of two sides......

In my eyes I am a homer just like all of you, but I also am a realist.

The Steelers are in a hole right now, and we are all loving it!!!!!!!!...... but just because they are down right now, does not mean that they are out. They have broken our hearts in the past, but that is even more motivation for us anyway when we play them new years eve.

But anyway....the point of this post is the two sides of the Steelers that they showed on Sunday. Side #1 is the offense. It is coming around. Ben looked good before he got knocked out ( Hehehe!). But then Batch came in and moved the offense the same against a good ATL defense.

Side #2, their Defense looked like 100% $hitstain on a pair of tightey whities underwear. Their offense scores 38 pts and you still lose the game. What happened to this so called a Iron City "tough' defense???

Dont tell me that its the absense of Joey Porter...... Even though he was out, he doesnt even get his name called in some games unless its the introduction. So what is it???

The Squeelers are in trouble and I, as all of us are loving it. But I am just reminding all of us out in Bengal Nation, dont count them out, they crept back from the dead last year, so when we get them again lets kick the s**t outta them!!!!!!!!!...again!!!

....they may be 2-4, but dont count them out. They've broken our hearts one too many times to overlook them!!!

Yeah, they sure have broken our hearts. I've been a season ticket holder since Marvin has been here, and I have yet to see us beat them here at Paul Brown.

No way I count them out. Once they sit with 6 losses, I will be tasting death for them, but not until.

As for the defense, their scheme is and always has been designed to stop the run first, but they do it without putting 8 guys in the box. That is the beauty of the 3-4. But if you can get the protection up front on play action, with the 1-1 on matchups down the sides or across the middle (i.e. big old TE), then you will pass against this team down after down. Like Brady has shown, do not be afraid to treat the pass like a run against this team. Do that, and the run will open up and the next thing you know, you are winning ... they play catch-up ... and more times than not, they lose that type of game. Sunday's game is a great example. Batch did just as good as Benji, so I doubt they would have won regardless. I can only recall one single game in the 15 years I have been closely watching this team that they have won a bigtime 'catch-up' under Cowher (playoff win against Browns several years back).

I think you are seeing more and more teams catch on to this. It's about time. I think what you are seeing is week by week, the defense is getting more and more tired in the second half. They are simply not used to this. It's a good thing. And yes, I rejoice with you. But as you say, it is WAY too early. All the Bengals need to do is keep winning and the rest will take care of itself.

If they don't sit Ben for the Oakland game, then their entire coaching and medical staff should be shot.

You do not mess around with concussions. I know from personal experience. They are not easily just shrugged off, no matter how much the team needs you.

Oh yeah, and it is Oakland. They better sit him.
