Jackson, Jeanty questionable

October 11, 2006

Safety Dexter Jackson (ankle) said Wednesday he thinks it will be a close call and perhaps a game-time decision if he plays Sunday in Tampa. Linebacker Rashad Jeanty (foot), said he’s 50-50. Both are listed questionable.

That is a stellar piece of reporting!

Last time I checked Probable mean 75% chance to play, Questionable means 50-50 and Doubtful means 75% chance to not play!

Damn, Marvin is good huh? He lists Jeanty and Jackson a questionable and both said they are 50-50!

Wow, is this team in sync or what? :sure:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

We'll just have to watch to see if Jeanty and/or Jackson practice by friday. I imagine we won't see them practice tomorrow... but if they aren't in there by friday, I'd expect to see them have to wait another week.

I still think we will win without them... so it's good timing after the bye week, but we're really going to need them against the Panthers.

I'm confused, why is this funny?

We are always bashing Hobbes, so I thought I would give him some props.

(I think it is generally referred to as sarcasm, by most, but I could be wrong there...) :P

At the risk of bringing the wrath of Kirkendall down upon myself yet again...

please understand Hobson is no longer an unbiased journalist, he is an employee of the Bengals.

His employer places him in a position of advocacy, not independent journalism. For the most part, this has not been overly overt or homeristic; however, it is fact nonetheless. Heaven knows there are MUCH worse! This does not mean that his employer does not exert considerable control over his content. In fact, it's no different than the advocacy role a lawyer, lobbyist or other consultant takes for their clients.

This issue is a broad one that impacts many journalists and broadcasters (remember how much trouble Brennaman got into in the '80s when he bad-mouthed his employer?)

With respect to the current matter at hand, I do find creating a story out of a retelling of the injury report complete with the percentages that define the status kind of funny.

I approve of this message.
