A post on a CBS Sportsline board mentions the killing of 2 Bengal fans in a Pittsburgh bar last night.

Has anyone else heard this or can confirm a reliable report? I hope this is not true.....

I'm pretty sure I would have heard this. Nothing surprises me around here, but I haven't heard anything remotely close to that.

As one t.v. reporter stated ... "like a funeral procession after the game." Bummer.

I checked the KDKA and Post-Gazette websites and it looks like there were 3 murders in the past few days, 1 was at an ATM and the other two appear to be locals.

I am on record as saying there may very well be deaths involved in the Steeler fans' journey to Cincinnati on New Year's Eve. THose folks don't know when to show class or shut up, and drunk football fans in a rivalry this heated could turn ugly. Steeler fans are, as a rule, more arrogant and obnoxious with a sense of self-importance and entitlement than any out there, and they will certainly be here with their attitudes on. I hope I'm wrong, and what would help is if the game has nothing riding on it from Pittsburgh's perspective, which is growing more likely.

If I see any Bengal fan mistreating a Steeler fan down here on Dec 31....then I know how to intervene.

I disagree. By December 31 the division will be well in hand and a large portion of the Steeler fan base won't bother making the trip. Those that do show up would have to be supernaturally obnoxious to cause any serious trouble. I mean, if a Brown fan (or even Kellen Jr., himself) walked into a bar in downtown Cincinnati and started talking trash, would anybody take him seriously? The Steelers will be old news by December, just like the Browns are in September.
