Dadraftnick
If you missed it Bresnahan and Bratkowski were in an online chat and there was something strange that happened. This is a piece of the chat.trammelIs there a possibility that Thurman might be lost for the entire year?Chuck BresnahanNot to be evasive, but I only concern myself with things I can control. We will line up with whoever is ready to play on any given Sunday.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------He is asked a question again about Odel and ignores it.Chuck, does your defense take a big hit without Odell, or does Brooks fill in?bigshoeAfter had the chance to watch Joseph what is your opinion of his talent?jimIs D. Jackson the big hitter we have been missing over the middle(aka Fulcher)? The jungleCoach, I think we have a great shot at stopping run this year. How much of a factor will Sam Adams play in doing so?Chuck Bresnahanto The jungle: Sam will obviously bring a high level of experience and talent that will help us stop the run. But it also gives us the ability to move Bryan Robinson to left end and Justin Smith to right end on run downs, which further improves our chances of stopping the run.------------------------------------------------------------------------------It would seem to be qutie an easy question to answer "is Odel out for the year?"He either is or he is not.His answer "I can only concern myself with things I can control",is strange at best and the answer seems to say that there is something going on that is out of our hands like another suspension or an injury that could keep him out for the year.If you want to read the rest or the online chat :http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../308010027/1066
BengalByTheBay
All questions will be answered in time. I doubt it will be answered by a coach in an online chatroom.
The_Next_Big_Thing
Actually "Is odell done for the year" is NOT an easy question to answer. As of now, he is done for 4 games. Is there potential it can get worse? Sure. Do they know right now? NO.
ArmyBengal
We should all know by now that any meeting, conference, or chat with either Marvin or his staff will be followed by the uncertainty of if you actually just attended or read one of the above meetings. They have the unique ability to take up a whole lot of time saying absolutely NOTHING of great consequence. Nothing new here...WHODEY !!! cincy9275
all the turmoil that's going on with o'dell . chuck was smart to stay away from any question's that's regarding o'dell . i think that providing o'dell stays clean makes his peace with the coaches he will be back on the field after his four games are up . he is a very talented player and guys with his skill and ability won't be on the bench for long . can you imagine if we do switch to the 3-4 with him and brooks in the middle if brooks is as good as advertised . we know what o'dell can do , and then we still have pollack , simmons , johnson , miller , nicholson who i have seen play more than a couple of times . he was a beast last season and was even considered by many even to be as good as aj hawk untill he got in trouble . i am a little biased but i don't think there was anybody as good as aj hawk . JaxonFord87
Maybe the coaching staff is unsure of what is really going to all happen to Odell. I would rather they get their facts straight, then tells us something now and change it later.
Jonboat
What's so strange about it ? Any news of Odell being out for the year is going to come from the head coach or the league. Is he out for the year?... who knows but it won't be coming from Bresnahan
rishipatel
They've pretty much made it obvious that no one is going to give any info except Marvin, and only when he's good and ready.
HairOnFire
Since we're reading between the lines....did anyone catch the bomb Marvin dropped on Chris Perry?

HairOnFire
I found a more complete version of Marvin's remarks that make it seem less of a bomb strike. However, the portion in bold is how his remarks first appeared in the Cincy Post, and you can see how different the impression would have been. "He's got to wait for clearance. He knows what's at stake. He's going to have to push that or I'll have to make a decision when that time comes. He's got to go through this process. His game is based on quickness and cutting, and so we need to make sure his ankle is right and strong and prepared before we move into the next phase."
