GEORGETOWN, Ky. _ Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Wednesday that quarterback Carson Palmer is going to work in Friday night’s intrasquad scrimmage, but wouldn’t say how many snaps he’ll get.

Since Palmer won’t work Wednesday night, the Bengals gave him the majority of snaps Wednesday morning in the club’s first red-zone work. . .

Defensive tackle Sam Adams assured the masses after Wednesday morning’s practice that he’ll start playing “when the live bullets start flying.” Lewis says Adams is close to practicing, but by then he had already worked out twice with strength coaches Chip Morton and Ray Oliver Wednesday starting at 6 a.m.

“I better not catch Chip and Ray in an alley,” Adams said. “I want them dark one day in an alley. I’m going to be hiding behind that little machine over and wear him out with a ski mask. . .

Asked if wide receiver Chris Henry has a different attitude, Lewis had to catch himself when he said, “He’s gone through some trials.” After recovering, Lewis said he feels Henry has changed after his four arrests. . .

Yes, Lewis has noticed rookie middle linebacker Ahmad Brooks as he gets more and more coaching. . .

Lewis indicated that wide receiver Antonio Chatman (groin) and linebacker Hannibal Navies (shoulder) won’t play in the scrimmage. . .
