schnarfer
I understand the concern that people had with Ahmad Brooks as a possible bad seed, but the facts are the facts when it comes to football. I pride myself on being a football geek and understanding talent and Ahmad Brooks, when he is healthy , was one of the best Lb's I have seen in a long time. I remeber thinking 2 years ago that this kid would skip his junior season and come in the draft and be a top 5 pick...His potential in limitless and if meets his potential he WILL be our starting middle LB and will be all pro. I love Odell Thurman and what he brings to the team but as Marvin said, he is a non factor and per my sources will be out for the enitire season. Let us podner the future with Simmons, Pollack, Johson and Brooks our LB core will be as solid as any in the NFL.... WHO DEY!!
bengalboomer7
I just love it when people say things like "per my sources" As for Brooks, i reserve judgement until, you know, he takes some snaps. Right now our MLB is Brian SImmons
The_Next_Big_Thing
Hello?!?!?! Marvin never said Odell was a non-factor. Read it again. He said Odell not being there was a non-factor, and that his family had cleared his absense with the coaching staff.Simmons will be out of Cincinnati LONG before Odell is. GregCook
Training camp is just 3 days old and someone is talking about insider Bengals plans for the entire season? What if Simmons comes up lame during preseason? Odell still a non-factor? What if Brooks breaks down? What if Landon breaks down? Marvin is a smart guy, dumb guys cast their roster into stone 3 days into training camp. Also we're paying 2nd rounder Odell to play, not sit. cincy9275
i hope brooks lives up to all the hype and praises he is getting . odell is back at camp and i hope he does the right things and gets himself ready and puts all this stuff behind him . if brooks pans out and odell gets his head right . the thought of these two on the field together and havoc these guys could bring is scary . JoePong
Odell Thurman is still a big part of this defense and the future of this team. That hasn't changed simply because he's going to miss 4 games.
DC_Bengals_Fan
Odell Thurman is still a big part of this defense and the future of this team. That hasn't changed simply because he's going to miss 4 games.Considering he blew 3 drug tests in his rookie year, some might say that his chances of blowing one more sometime in the not-too-distant future is reasonably high. So when does Odell's 1-year suspension come? That's what's changed.
BengalPappaw
When and IF Odell returns, I believe that the Bengals are better with Brooks in the middle.I would love to see both Brooks and Thurman on the field in a 3-4 formation.Hopefully, Odell gets his act together and the Bengals can build a MONSTER defense with the talent we are beginning to accumulate on defense.I really like the thought of Pollack, Brooks, Thruman and L. Johnson at LB.We'll see how good we can be on defense as the season begins to unfold -- IT's GREAT DREAMING of a dominant defense.
Kazkal
I wonder if they did stay 4-3 for the future if brooks or odell ends up on outside once Bsimmons is replaced.
buck3y3d
Are your sources the Cincinnati Enquirer or Bengals.com?Brooks has never taken a pro snap, and has a drug history? Landon, Pollack, and Simmons will start the season if everything goes as planned.

ArmyBengal
I think saying Brooks will make everyone say, "Odell who?" is a bit premature. The only way we will be saying, "Odell who?" is if he's cut from the team. The Bengals will get all they can out of him until his contract is up or he's suspended for a season...WHODEY !!!
