Beerfish
Sorry about this being an off topic post...and worse yet a hockey post. My home town team the Edmonton Oilers just played the 1st game of the Stanley cup Finals and lost. Our starting goalie who has been the mvp of the playoffs gets injured and is out for the series. Our much despised backup comes in and lets in one of the weakest goals you will ever see late in the game to lose it. I think I'm going to hurl. It's a helpless hopeless feeling when your key player goes down.

Sorry about your loss mate.

Sorry about your loss mate. From ESPN . . ."With the pace frantic and the score 4-4, Hurricanes rookie forward Andrew Ladd carried the puck into the Edmonton zone and cut across in the front of the net. He was met there by trailing defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron, who unloaded a big hit from behind that drove Ladd into Roloson with 5:54 remaining and knocked the net off its moorings."So, one of the Oiler players blocked an opponent into their own starting goalie and now the goalie is out for the year with a knee injury. Sounds too familiar . . . I think I'm going to be sick.

Sorry man, that certainly sucks. On the upside, maybe Anthony Wright can play goalie for you next year!
BengalBillyBob
I'm sure the Oilers won't baby and cry about it. Injuries happen in contact sports, real men accept that. Women and babies tend to blame others and cry about things. Hockey is a mans sport, they will move on. Go Oilers... I'd hate to see any team from the south win a hockey championship. BTG
Just wait until some jackass fan of your opponent starts up with the whole, "it wouldn't have mattered if he was healthy" nonsense. Of course, if it was their key player, the whining would be incessant.
Edogger
I caught some of this game but I couldn't bare to watch since it should have been the wings there...you know if they knew how to win a playoff game, but I digress. It was a really good game, but that was unfortunate to lose such a key player in the finals. I feel for you! All the Bengals fans say they can relate but "the injury" wasn't even in the AFC Championship game. Could you imagine if Cincy would have made it to the SB and then Carson would have gotten hurt. Take your feelings now and amplify them a lot! Ouch...I am pulling for the Oilers since they took out my beloved Redwings! Game on!
