what do you guys think is more important for the upcoming years? having lavar arrington and losing two starting olinemen or keeping all of our line but not having lavar? i wish just thinking about this cus it might cost us this much for lavar

I actually do want Lavar, one of his few supporters it appears. However, he is still a question mark in my eyes...our o-line is proven, and we need to protect Carson now more than ever...I say keep the o-line, develop the defense in the draft. Also, I think we actually have good linebackers right now, and we don't really need Lavar...We have the solid, veteran leader, two young guns, and Landon Johnson has really come into his own. Give me the two starting linemen.

I hope the Bengals have learned their lesson about letting good O-linemen go.

The loss of Max Montoya, G, started the Bengals collapse the last time. The line unity and effectiveness ws never the same -- even though we had Munoz.

If you have a GOOD O-line, I vote for keeping them together and letting them continue to get better.

Hey I look at it this way, if they can sign JJ FOR 6 YEARS THEY WILL BE SIGNING THE "O" linemen. Cuz why would they sign the blocking fullback and not the "O" line thats in the front of him. They cando both if they really want to... :sure:

I can't believe this is even a question that needs to be considered !!!

It all starts on the lines and the Bengals have one of the best in the league. The need to protect Carson is far more important than anything Arrington can do for us, especially when you consider the price Arrington is looking for. (7 years, 54 million)

If it means letting some o-linemen go then, I say this to Arrington---> :finger:

I'm so sure he cares though...

WHODEY !!!

Doesn't it always start with the O-Line?

Look at Denver, NE, Pitts, Seattle etc. You can insert___________RB name, etc. and they perform. Denver has even make JPlummer look like a pro-bowler.

If we continue the path we have forged, FAs will want to come to Cinti, either at fair market value or just below.

I am currently happy with the balance I have seen in the signings on both sides of the ball to this point. Look at the Colts for example, they spend their whole nut on the offensive side of the ball. They draft mostly on the defensive side of the ball. Once that player become good, they end up spending the best years of their career in another uniform.

Bottom Line, sign your own players first. Maybe we can pick up a good defensive player next year from the Redskins when they cut someone they signed this offseason.

I think the draft will give us a good idea of the Bengals plan for the O-line. If we pick up an O-lineman early, we can assume that the Bengals are going to let at least one of our current line go. I wonder what type of comp picks we would get for letting Willie or Steinbach sign with another team, in addition to the money saved? Hell, look at the comp picks Pittsburgh got this year for losing Kendrell Bell, Plaxico Burress, Oliver Ross and Keydrick Vincent.... they got picks 131, 133 and 167... We can't afford to pay our entire O-line Pro Bowl type money.

I would start getting our backups extended. Just in case.
