Marvin considering 3-4

Like he said, only if the price comes down... He also stated, Arrington coming in wouldn't necessitate the move to a 3-4 defense either...

WHODEY !!!

But he didn't say Pollack was staying at LB either...

I'm talking about what he did say, versus what he didn't say... If you want to specualte by saying "He didn't say that Pollack was staying at LB either", then I would respond with, he didn't say the space shuttle was going to do a flyover of the home opener either, so it might happen... To tell you the truth, I don't think any of us can put much stock in anything the coaches say prior to the draft as to not tip their hand to drastically.

WHODEY !!!

(Marvin Lewis)"Through time there's been a level of comfort (reached) with decisions I make based on us winning games, Lewis said. Even if they don't always agree 100 percent and they may not see it initially that way, Mike (Brown) and the people I work for now understand why I make the decisions I make.

The decisions revolve around a philosophy not to go diving into free agency. The Bengals have barely put a toe in the water with the signing of safety Dexter Jackson and wide receiver Antonio Chatman.

It's been proven you don't do much in free agency. That (hardly) ever helps anybody, Lewis said. You acquire habits that aren't necessarily the habits you want. It's hard to judge (what) he's going to be in the thick of the battle. You may aid it, but it's not going to make a big difference. "

More important than maybe a 3-4 in this article..... Marvin Lewis is the one holding us back from free agency, not Mike Brown! Marvin Lewis doesn't believe in bigtime free agency. It's not about anyone being cheap!

My point in saying that was to point out that just because we might sign Arrington doesn't mean we would go to a 3-4. If pollack moved back to DE we could stay in the 4-3.

:sure:
