HairOnFire
We don't know that the Bengals are talking to him. We're getting all our information from agents and other teams. Well, who knows about anything we're being told? But New York sources claimed that Arrington flew into Cincy to meet the Bengals on Sunday, and wasn't supposed to leave until sometime today. wookie
In the D the Bengals run the team would not have Arrington on the field for much of the game, unless by signing him they decide to play more 3-4. You don't pay a guy the kind of money he's looking for and sit him for more than half a game, and you don't cut the heart of the LB core in Simmons to bring in a guy who may become a liability in the locker room.I don't see Arrington as a fit for the Bengals, he is still a great LB and he will improve the play of any defense he joins, but I would like to see the Bengals get a good DT rather than bring in another LB. HairOnFire
The Colts' defense is better than the Bengals'. They can afford to have a freelancer. And a freelancer on the D-line is a little bit different from a freelancer who needs to be able to drop into coverage. C'mon, the Colts defense over the last 5 years has been awful, average, and good. The one constant during that entire time is the pure havoc created by Freeny. And I'm pretty sure that an ex-Steeler LB coach like Marvin Lewis once was knows that an OLB can play the same berserker role if so desired.I don't see Arrington as a fit for the Bengals, he is still a great LB and he will improve the play of any defense he joins, but I would like to see the Bengals get a good DT rather than bring in another LB. Fair enough, but IMHO there are no good DT's still available....so defensive line improvement will come by way of the draft or not at all. Spor_tees
how many osu players did we take last year ? ohya none.I guess somepeople don't want a O-line next year.We picked up Krenzel last year.
HoTbOy
If Marvin thinks that Arrington will be good for the team then that's okay with me...for those of you who really think that Arrington would not help the team must have something against the man, because he can help ANY team in the NFL...Yes we do NEED a DT, if there was one out there of Arrington's caliber, i would say sign in a minute but there aren't any...The DT's that are out there like the Adams and Jacksons have been there for a while so why rush...I don't like Arrington, but I know he can HELP this team no matter where they play him...is he worth 6mil a year, I say no...but if they signed him to that I wouldn't be mad... ArmyBengal
It has absolutely nothing to do with liking the man, I don't know him and yes he will probably make some team better. I just can't see spending the cash on him when the o-line needs to be addressed. As for the d-line, no, there's probably no one left that I care one way or another for and will have to look to the draft. I will tell you this though, for how much I love Chad, his time is going to come as well, and he will be getting a raise. That also has to be on the mind of the organization.I just don't see Arrington as a need right now, that's all.WHODEY !!!
