Hey fellas, your friendly, but utterly dejected Bears troll here. What's the word on Rudi? Is Perry going to handle a little more of the load this week due to that knee injury? I saw he was probable, but I figured the Bengal faithful could fill me in a little (yes I picked him up on my fantasy team as a dependable utility guy
). Oh by the way 4-1..........not to shabby, congrats.
-
C'mon. No freaking way was that a cheap shot at any Bears player. Not even our friendly visiting Chicago fan JOZ21 took it that way, or he would have heard something as to that on the Bears board, which apparently he hasn't.
There hasn't been talk at all on our board about this..................like i said in another post, I personally found it hysterycal
-
I'm pretty sure they asked Chad about it and, I don't remember where I read it, but he said he saw the Riverdance earlier in the week on TV, and he said he wanted to try it. People read way too much into this. Come on, give me a break. Chicago fans just don't want to realize their team was demolished.
Ummmmm, I think we realize our team WAS demolished. However, what does that have to do with this post?????? I don't think he's a poster from another board, with 93 posts????
-
That could be the most rediculous thing I ever heard. Chad Johnson has way more class than that.
-
By all counts, you guys should trounce Houston. I'm not even sure if they suit up an offensive line. Although they are coming off a bye week. Good luck this week.
-
Thanks fellas, it's been fun BS'n with you guys about the game this week. I'll have to check in once in awhile to see what's goin on. There's way to much negativity on my board right now. Are they seriously fining CJ for the riverdance???? My wife and I were cracking up on Sunday.

So how does 3- 0 feel? Pretty good I bet. Well, you guys definately made my Bears humble. Kyle Orton looked like, well, a rookie. Turnovers just killed us. Overall I'm still thrilled with our defense. They shut the run done well. I thought our ground attack stayed consistent, Thomas Jones looked good again. On the Cincy side, 5 take aways is pretty good, lol. Chad Johnson is a stud (shocker). How many heart attacks took place when he went down? Anyway, nice job fellas.
Your defense is 'as advertised' and very tough. If Orten can just limit his mistakes, I see the Bears in the playoffs (in a weak division and conference). T. Jones is the real deal and is very quick to hit the hole. Has anyone heard why C. Benson didn't get a carry?
The coaching staff is still not confident in him picking up the blocking schemes. Also, with the way Jones is running, makes it tough to yank him. As far as the playoffs, I don't think Minny is toast yet. Yesterday was the pickmeup they needed. A little confidence goes a long way.

I don't know why I take so much joy in this, but I went to the Bears message board and they are absolutlely in flames. I like leaving other teams in flames. They sound just like the Bengals fans for the last forever years. I must be a sadistic bastard to revel in their misery. I need counseling. This could get out of hand.
They are, of course, blaming Orten. Also, ready to run their DBs out of town.
The fact is that it was always our defense against their offense, and we dramatically won that matchup.
Good teams make other teams look like they had a bad day. And it was a bad day for the the bears.
Ok I figured there would have to be ONE guy. I for one am fine with our DB's, and a QB who made rookie mistakes, because he is a rookie. Cincy is a great team. but take a look at the total offense numbers. They are a little shocking. " The fact is it was always our defense against their offense, and we dramaticly won that matchup". Cincy - total offense=253, Bears total offense= 255. As i said turnovers killed us. Again, awesome showing yesterday, you guys are through your growing pains. Ours have just begun.

Now I've heard it all..........Carson Palmer in Manning's league. Boy o boy, someone is drinking the kool-aid....................
Want to place a bet on who is in the top 5 QBs at the end of the season? Care to compare Peyton Mannings first 3 years stats vs. Carson Palmers?
Yes, Carson Palmer is in Manning's league.
Bears fans
Bengals fans
What are we going to bet if Carson is in the top 5?????? I've already said he is the real deal. However, I don't care what stats you post on this board, there is no way in hell you can put Palmer in Mannings league right now, meaning today, not 2 years from now, or compared to manning's first 3 years. Numbers are exactly that numbers. I'm sorry man, that is just crazy.

Neither of our teams have been "top tier" for some time now.
"for some time now" clearly is a past tense statement. On the ESPN rankings the Bears are still ranked in the non-"top tier" 20's. (21st to be exact). The Bengals on the other hand are ranked 7th, meaning if we are not "top tier" in the eyes of the public, it seems we are only a win in Chicago away.
By the way... we shouldn't put too much emphasis on fan voting, but on the front page of ESPN.com, they have a poll as to which team will win go to 3-0 on the road. Out of 4 teams, the Bengals are ranking #1.
I'll admit, you can't know too much after only 2 weeks, but what I do know is that the Bengals have impressed the pants off of nearly every football analyst, while the Bears are still in the lower half of people's minds. So enough with the "pot calling the kettle black" statements. We have the national media backing our high expectations.
P.S. I listened to a few minutes of the Chicago based am station 1000, and even your Bears fans experts are expecting a loss. Win or lose this week, the Bears are not in the Bengals league. Every given Sunday... I know. That assumes that the lesser of the two teams could win... in this case, the Bears are clearly the lesser.
Well, we all know the national media knows what their talking about. Alright you guys are 2-0 I congratulate you. Seriously, your team is looking VERY good. But, it's a long season. You guys deserve to win. You are due. As I've said before, I like your team and it wouldn't suprise me to see you beat us on Sunday. What I don't like is that there are few on this board that can do nothing but call the Bears and their players, "bottom tier" and adjectives of the such. It's just funny how your players can give us some respect, but the fans can't. Anyways, good luck on Sunday, and as I said, If you do beat us, I will be here to congratulate all of you including some that don't deserve it.
Kyle Orton is doing good for being a rookie, but he's not even worthy of carrying carsons jock strap
Well, it's true. Sorry, but Carson is in Peyton's league while Orton is in Warner's league.
Now I've heard it all..........Carson Palmer in Manning's league. Boy o boy, someone is drinking the kool-aid....................

The passing game will smash Da Bears CP to CJ and TJ
Well, I hope your wrong. But I gues we'll see.

I think the X-factor will be Chris Collinsworth. You guys should be seeing the Ickey (sp) shuffle all day.
LOL
Okay, that's really lame. Posting is a right not a privilege. BTW if any team should be living in the past it's Chicago.
Back on topic -- I agree with Perry. I think teams game planning for the Bengals can only account for so much. I do not believe anybody's putting the screen or check-down catch on their plate and Perry can do some mad work. We got a glimpse last week, but we will see more this week. It's just not fair (to them).
Oh come on, it was just a joke, I think some of these other guys on here that have replied to some of my threads know I'm pretty objective. I respect your team. I think you guys are tough and it will be a good game. Sorry.

I think their secondary is in disarray....we'll test that quickly...Tillman is ok Azumah can be had..
Brown is a hitter but a mediocre cover guy... the other safety is a rook...
the d-line like to rush but are weak at the point of attack.. they wear down.. Harris is a quitter, brown is invisable sometimes and aday is hurt... Rudi can run on these guys..
lots of pressure of Orton... he's rook and not a top tier one at that..nuff said
We should win this game easy imo....third quarater KO with the bears whispering to each other on the sidelines "da-bears!.........
The "rook" you speak of is SECOND year man Nate Vasher. Take a look at his first 2 games this year and then tell me what you think of him. Aday had a minor ankle sprain, he is fine. Not sure about the quitter thing either but, it's debateable.
How do you know Orton is not a top tier Rook? Just cause he was drafted in the 4th? He's only played 2 games in the NFL, and has managed pretty well considering. Take a look at his numbers. You might notice he had 100+ rating last week. Not to shabby for a low tier rook.
I think you guys will be suprised how good of a game this will be on Sunday.
You guys who are going to the game in Chicago might very well have a long ride home. Mr. Palmer is going to have people in his face for the full 4 quarters. I can't imagine this game will be worth it and the long and disappointing ride home will be quite sad for you Bungle boys.....Have fun.....Peace
I have never seen a fan base/local media so overconfident in their team in my life.
I hope your sorry a$$ rookie QB can keep up with Palmer, Rudi, Perry, CJ, TJ, Henry, Walters and Co.
I'll be at the game in my swag and loving every minute of it hopefully.
The Bengals' will expose the Bears for who they really are - an overrated defensive team with no offense in a terrible division.
Well, if that's not the pot calling the kettle black. Neither of our teams have been "top tier" for some time now. Believe me if we were 2-0 I'd be excited as well, but let's be realistic. This will be a good game. Believe it. Good luck to you guys. Hopefully both teams get out injury free.

3. It's way too early to jump on the 2-0 Bengals' bandwagon.
We're talking about the Cincinnati Bengals. Anybody foolish enough to believe right now that what we're seeing from Carson Palmer is the real thing deserves to have his/her heart broken. I'm not predicting doom for Palmer. I'm just saying it's much too early to be predicting success. Do not reach any conclusions about the Bengals until Week 10.
If i saw him on the street I would punch him in the face.
That guy is a turd. He always bashes the teams with the checkered pasts, and only gets on his knees for teams like the Pats. He will never give anyone the benefit of the doubt. He stays pretty consistent bashing Chicago as well.

Respect for Bears 'D' is catchy
Bengals' standout Johnson says there's no one to talk trash to

Last October, Cincinnati wide receiver Chad Johnson FedExed a bottle of Pepto-Bismol to four Cleveland defensive backs — to help settle what he figured would be queasy stomachs in advance of facing him.
There will be no taunting or inciting the Bears secondary this week, not after the controversial Bengals wideout viewed game film of his opponent in preparation for Sunday's game between Cincinnati (2-0) and the Bears (1-1) at Soldier Field.
"Now, off the record, from a personal standpoint, we all know I'm not coverable," Johnson joked via conference call Wednesday. "But looking at the film, that (Bears) defense is unbelievable. I'm not trying to be funny, but the defense is unbelievable.
"I've watched two games, Washington and Detroit. They fly all over the place, like bumblebees. They should be wearing yellow and black. Four people that stand out: Mike Brown, Lance Briggs, (Brian) Urlacher and the second-year DB — I can't remember his last name."
That would be cornerback Nate Vasher, who shares the NFL lead with three interceptions.
"He can just call me 'No. 31' or 'that second-year guy' or whoever," Vasher said. "I mean, I'm fine with it."
In Johnson, the Bears must try to shut down a deep threat who is tied for second in the league in catches (16) and is fourth in receiving yards (230). The 6-foot-1, fifth-year pro is coming off a nine-touchdown, 1,274-yard effort in 2004.
Johnson suspects the Bears' defense will have plenty of ideas how to silence him, especially after they had five interceptions against Detroit last week.
"I'm trying to think of who I could talk trash to this week, but I can't," Johnson said. "Scared? Respect? It's much respect, seriously. I never even talk like this, but man, film does not lie. Therefore (No.) 85 is going to keep his mouth shut this week."
So what brought on his sudden silence?
"Blame it on the 'D' coordinator over there; (he) has them the way they're playing," Johnson said of Ron Rivera.
Bears secondary players were skeptical about Johnson's newfound humility and respect.
"He's one of those guys that has a big personality," Vasher said. "So I'm sure if he doesn't say anything right now, once the game starts, I'm sure he'll have plenty to say."
Brown agreed, and matched Johnson's admiration.
"It's still early in the week," the Bears safety said. "They've still got a couple more days for him to say something. This is what the league's about — players like that that make a lot of plays and let people know about it, too.
"It's going to be fun. I'm excited to play against him because I always want to play against the best, and I feel like he is. His production has been one of the best in the league for the last couple years, so it's going to be a challenge. But I think we have some great corners and some guys that are physical, and we'll see if he likes that physicality."
The Bears had faced Randy Moss twice a year on a regular basis before he was dealt from Minnesota to Oakland, so dealing with trash talk is nothing new.
"I think that's part of his game," Brown said of Johnson. "That's the fun of the game. Most receivers do talk a little.
"He respects us, but the first catch he has, all that respect probably goes out the window."
Last week, the Bears secondary held the Detroit Lions' "big three" receiving corps of Roy Williams, Mike Williams and Charles Rogers to eight catches for 127 yards, even with rookie Chris Harris making his first start at free safety.
For all the talking Johnson does, it doesn't outdo his ability, in the Bears' eyes.
"Chad Johnson is a good football player," coach Lovie Smith said. "He talks a lot, but he backs it up.
"He comes to play each week. He plays hard. It's going to be a big challenge for us. Our defensive backs will have their work cut out for them."
Still, sending the Pepto-Bismol and the fact he held up a sign pleading for the NFL to stop fining him were a bit much for the tastes of some NFL observers. But a charity linked to Pepto-Bismol donated money as a result of his brash move.
Unfortunately for Johnson, the end result of his boasting ploy was a game in which the Browns held him to three catches for 37 yards and beat the Bengals 34-17.
Brown said the Bears will have to do something similar if they want to avoid becoming the butt of Johnson's jokes.
"If you don't want them to do all that, keep them out of the end zone, and that kills all that dancing and all that," Brown said. "If you want to stop them from doing that, don't let them get in the end zone, because if they get in the end zone, they're going to act the fool and try to embarrass you.
"That's our job, keep them out of the end zone, don't let them dance."
As I said before, I love Chad Johnson, and despite popular opinion, I think he is a class guy, and this proves it. It's going to be fun on Sunday. I think my Bears will keep it tight. Should be great.

Same old bro, just tryin' to get through a brutal season. LOL I think TJ is going to do all he can to get on that field Sunday for obvious reasons. Is Benson the long term answer? I don't know. I will say this, for being a "POWER" back, he sure as hell has trouble breaking the line of scrimmage in short yardage. I personally am a big fan of TJ, and wasn't terribly thrilled with Benson at 4. But we'll see, I wish him well of course, but I'm not so sure that with all the "sex party" stuff being the focus this week instead of how bad Minny has been playing, that they aren't going to come out beat the crap out of us. Always something about a team that flys under the radar from an extinuating circumstance.........ya know?
Welcome to my world!!!!!
