Next years schedule/record

If I understand the NFL's schedule-formula correctly and if things remain as they are, we will play Buffalo and Kansas City/Oakland as the two "at-large" teams.

Since we are in third place we would play each third place team from the AFC West and AFC East. We play all of the teams in the NFC North and AFC South in 2005.

Home:Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh

(AFC South) Houston, Indy

(NFC North) Green Bay, Minnesota

Away: Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh

(AFC South) Jacksonville, Tennessee

(NFC North) Chicago, Detroit

At Large: Buffalo, Kansas City/Oakland

(locations to be determined)

Congratulations! After another .500 season next year you'll be able to officially slide up from "Perennially Dismal" to "Perpetually Mediocre."

Good job, Marvin!

By the way, what's this deal you goofballs have with Bills Daily? Don't you know that the best Bills Fan site around - and that's official, you can look it up - is BuffaloBillsInsider.com and buffalorange.com?

If you have gonads, you post there. Or you can stay here and remain neutered.

Bad Radio kids you not.

If you've got testicles lying around, strap them on and come to the Range. You'll need 'em.

Sounds like a bizarre porn site to me. No thanks.

No, not at the Range. If you do want soft porn though, go to the Dolphins board. Their "Hot Women" forum is world-renowned.

I dont even know if next years schedule is even out and I know we have not even done the NFL draft yet. But what do u guys think our record will be next year?

The actual NFL schedule is out for the next 10 years, even though no dates have been announced.

When the Houston franchise began play in 2002, the NFL was able to come up with a rotating schedule since there are 32 teams. I think this rotation is set until 2009. Basically you will do a home-and-home with each team at some point during that 8 year span.

If they add another team (LA?) without moving a current team, then I think the schedule gets messed up.

2005 Schedule:

Home: Houston, Indy, Green Bay, Minnesota

Away: Jacksonville, Tennesse, Chicago, Detroit

A couple of years ago when the NFL re-structured the divisions they eliminiated the SOS (Strength of Schedule), thus no more 'bad teams playing each other'. The NFL schedules are set all the way until 2009.

I think we got a break on the home/away matchups. Green Bay, Minny, and Indy will be much more winnable in the Jungle. Better to go to Chicago and Detroit than those places. Besides we need to play in Detroit to get ready for when we return later in the year. :player:

Those are 8 winnable games. The Indy game should be an offensive show.

Easier road in '05?

12/27/2004 - 8:10 p.m.

BY GEOFF HOBSON

A sneak peek at the tentative Bengals 2005 schedule shows they have a much easier road map than the one they complete Sunday in Philadelphia against a team that is 13-2 after Monday night's loss to St. Louis.

The eight teams the Bengals visit next season have a combined record this year of 10 games under .500 (55-65) heading into this weekend’s regular-season finale, compared to the formidable 70-49 road schedule of 2004.

The overall record of the ’05 schedule is currently 125-115, only three games easier than the 128-111 that is about to end. But the Bengals have the potential of playing just four 10-win teams next year compared to six this year if Green Bay and Buffalo win their final games.

The two wild-card teams on the schedule for next season look to be the 7-8 Chiefs in Kansas City and the 9-6 Bills in Paul Brown Stadium if this Sunday holds up. Home games are against 14-1 Pittsburgh, 12-3 Indianapolis, 9-6 Green Bay and Buffalo, 8-7 Baltimore and Minnesota, 7-8 Houston and 3-12 Cleveland.

Cincinnati's seven other road games include Pittsburgh (14-1), Baltimore (8-7), Jacksonville (8-7), Detroit (6-9), Chicago (5-10), Tennessee (4-11) and Cleveland (3-12).

Does it matter where you play whom?

Look at Pittsburgh. While the Bengals played five winning teams on the road, the Steelers have played two 8-7 teams before heading Sunday to Buffalo. Excluding the Bills, the Steelers have gone 6-1 against teams on that road that are 23 games under .500 compared to the Bengals 2-5 against teams 21 games over .500.

It appears the Bengals do get the NFL ultimate and play the tougher foes at home in 2005. A crew of 70-50 is set to come to PBS, compared to the 58-62 teams against which the Bengals went 5-3 in 2004.

Check out 13-2 New England. The Patriots went 6-2 on the road against teams a combined 58-61 and Philadelphia has stormed to 13-2 by going 7-0 at home against teams that are 48-57 and 6-2 on the road against teams 19 games under .500.

Next years schedule is set now. It looks like a lot of "local" away games next year with games at Chicago, Detroit and Tennessee along with the three divisional games. The farthest away games will be at KC and Jacksonville. No west coast trips! Now for a couple of prime time games.

2005

AFC NORTH

Home: Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh

Away: Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh

AFC SOUTH

Home: Houston, Indianapolis

Away: Jacksonville, Tennessee

NFC NORTH

Home: Green Bay, Minnesota

Away: Chicago, Detroit

AT LARGE

Home: Buffalo

Road: Kansas City

Ok I guess my early next season prediction will be the official end of the Non- Winning seasons under Marvin Lewis.

Cincy goes 6-2 at home next season. And 5-3 on the road. If we manage the draft well, avoid major Injuries and improve the Center position and the defense. No less than 10 -6 and definite playoffs ! :D
