deadone
For a Ravens fan, that was a very hard game to consume. Its one thing getting beat but watching starting players go down to injury one by one was just sickening. Ogden, Sams, Lewis, McNair all sustained some sort of significant injury that may have an impact on the season. That is good for you all. Here was the perspective from Raven Eyes.1. The game was suspciously identical to our playoff loss to Colts. Poor QB play.Penalties, slew of turnovers. Billick abandons the run.2. Looks like the Bengals may have enough playmakers on D to just keep theteam afloat, until the offense gets going. That run defense may be the thing thatkeeps the Bengals out of the playoffs if the offense refuses to show up. I'm sure itwill show up before long. There are easier defenses ahead.3. I don't care about the call in endzone. After giving up 24 points on turnovers, I wasjust glad the Ravens still had a flying chance at the end.Anyway, beat the Steelers as often as you beat us and I won't feel so bad.Good Luck

Great game BTW! Can't wait until we meet again! Good Luck.
duus
Excellent post and I agree with every point. I would find it a 'hard game to consume' should the tables had been turned. I expect you will find this but one week in a long season, and I know the Ravens will come out just fine in the end. All the problems I saw from them last night are completely correctable, short of the injuries lingering. Heck, as long as the Ravens do to the Steelers what they tend to every year, then I will be satisfied. It would be just fine with me should we split with you guys, but we both sweep the Urine. That would be a pure joy.Again ... great post. Please stick around and offer your thoughts week-to-week.

The Bengals season last year was derailed by injuries, and the Ravens took advantage....as they should have. As for this season, your teams injury concerns are now approaching the status that Bengal fans have grown painfully familiar with due to last years struggles and THIS preseason. In short, it's week 1 and beyond a single football game nobody has won or lost anything.
GregCook
The Cincy run defense was good last night and during the last 3 minutes it was superb. The best I can remember in 30+ years of watching them. That was one good take away as we saw great finishing everywhere on defense, but especially the front 7. Last year, we consistently saw the QB rush break down and open lanes for the QB to scramble. Last night it didn't happen, it was a tight front collapsing around the Ravens QB all night long. Last year, many QB's could take the snap, adjust their cup, tie their shoes and then go thru 3 check downs before the rush got to them. Not last night.Got to think the Bengals can do that next week too.Leon Hall is a hitter.Brooks is a hitter and can rush the middle. Those are good take aways to believe the Cincy D is much better than last year. Worth another 3 wins?

ArmyBengal
Moon, nice to have an objective fan from the opposition come and make a post AFTER his team lost a game. Hate to see injuries to any team. I was pleased with our defense and thought our offense (while obviously off a bit) did well enough against the Ravens feared defense. I think any team in the AFCN will take a win against our rivals regardless... I might be the only one around here who will take the stance that the Heap call in the endzone WASN'T that bad of a call. I taped the game and went back to watch the play again. While it might have been close to call, it was there. Anyway around, and it has been said around these parts constantly, if you play well enough to win, the game shouldn't come down to one particular play. I don't about any other Raven fans, but 6 turnovers would piss me the F*CK OFF !!!Oh yeah, does Billick not like McGahee or something to just abandon the run like that ??WHODEY !!!
