- There will be an annual Supplemental draft this year, just not with any " hype " players like Clarett or Mike Williams.

Here's the story..

AP reports that the NFL will conduct a supplemental draft July 20, but RB Maurice Clarett and WR Mike Williams won't be included. All are players with special circumstances that led to them applying for the draft. A few intriguing prospects could end up being selected or signed as free agents. A team drafting a player loses that pick in the applicable round next year. Available as of July 12 are: S James Allen (5-10, 170, 4.38, Brigham Young), RB Reynaldo Brathwaite (5-10, 170, Brigham Young), WR Chris Chatman (Midwestern State - Texas), LB/SS Ike Emodi (6-4, 231, 4.74, East Carolina), RB Larry Graham (Virginia Union), LB Chad Mascoe (Central Florida), OG Mataio Toilolo (Montana State), and DE Seante Williams (Jacksonville State). Allen and Braithwaite were dismissed from school for a violation of the honor code. Braithwaite's dismissal was permanent, while Allen could have re-applied in one year. School officials said both are good people who made one mistake. Brathwaite led BYU in rushing last year with 891 yards, averaging 5.6 yards a carry, and had a 95-yard run. Allen has 4.38 speed in the 40 and had 57 tackles with four sacks last season. Special teams is where he could make an immediate mark on an NFL team. Emodi, who was making the switch from safety before being declared academically ineligible, ran a 4.20 short shuttle, a 6.90 three cone drill, and a 4.74 40-time on grass during a recent workout. He also recorded a 38" vertical leap, a 10'5" broad jump, and 16 reps on the 225 pound bench press. Toilolo, who started at left guard last season and has good quickness for his size. Neither of the 8 players available for the Supplemental draft were selected, which means each player can sign with whichever team they choose to as undrafted free agents.
