The NCAA's all-time leader in receptions is now officially a Cincinnati Bengal.

The team signed third-round pick Chase Coffman Tuesday to an undisclosed contract. The Missouri product won the John Mackey award during his senior year, given to the nation's best tight end.

Coffman's draft stock wasn't helped when he broke his foot in the Alamo Bowl, but he said recently he's nearly fully recovered from the injury.

Coffman will have to prove he can block to get playing time, so we wouldn't expect him to pass veterans Reggie Kelly and Ben Utecht in front of him.

And in even bigger news...pun intended...my boy Fui Vakapuna was named the starting FB today....with the soon-to-be departed Jeremy Johnson listed for the time being as the 3rd string FB.

Edit: Oops, I realize now this one works better in the other thread.

Yeah, I made mention of that in the starting lineup thread I started and think it's big for him...
